Otto Kellerman Obituary

Otto J. Kellerman, Jr., 77, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas went to his reward peacefully early Sunday morning, July 1, 2012. Otto was born June 13, 1935 in Kansas City, Kansas. Otto is survived by his wife of 27 years, Alexandra; three daughters, Kari Ellis, Joni (Jim) Pate and Lori (Rob) Erickson, all of Jasper, Texas; sister, Virginia Wilson of Canon City, Colorado; and ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by stepson, Richard (Lisa) Bender of Gilroy, California; stepdaughter, Laurie (Norm) Black of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and four step grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Dorothy Morgan; and grandson, Adam Kellerman-Pate. Otto was a strong person, physically, mentally and religiously. He had an illustrious career beginning with SDC as a computer programmer and ending as Director of Missile Warning in Cheyenne Mountain for the Air Force. He retired in 1996 and became a consultant for Kaman Industries. He received many awards for his work and was instrumental in evolving many methods of defense for his country. Otto and his wife moved to 71 Resplandor Way, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas in 2004. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with COPD and developed many more medical issues. He was not a complainer and was uncomfortable receiving sympathy. He fought his problems for seven years following every directive his physicians gave him. Otto will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He loved living in the Village even though he was unable to partake of his favorite hobby, golf. He was a member of Community of Joy Evangelical Lutheran Church where the memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Ross Worch officiating. Memorials may be sent to Arkansas Hospice or the Hot Springs Village Animal Shelter. Guests may register at www.caruth-hale.com
