Patricia (Patty) Adams, 63, passed away peacefully at her home in Colorado Springs on Thursday, October 5, 2023, following a three month battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones in her final moments.
Patty was a devoted wife, loving mother, meticulous homemaker, gourmet cook, and voracious reader. Her passions included classical and operatic music, attending the ballet, and exploring the visual and performing arts. She passed her love and adoration for these topics on to her three children–Anna, Douglas, and Connor.
Patty was born in Kentucky to Dr. Raul and Alicia Puelma, who were immigrants from Chile. Patty was raised in Dumas and Fort Worth, Texas, where she attended Arlington Heights High School. She met and married Craig Adams in 1981 while pursuing her bachelor's degree in finance at Texas Christian University. After graduating, Patty held various professional roles in banking, retail, and real estate prior to starting a family. Patty's greatest joy was raising her children. She and her husband of forty-two years split their time between Fort Worth and Colorado Springs. In Colorado Springs, Patty was a beloved member of the Broadmoor community, and she especially enjoyed hiking on local trails and playing pickleball with friends.
Patty was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Julia Alicia. She is survived by her husband Craig; daughter Anna; sons Douglas and Connor; and sisters Mary, Betty, and Jeanne.
A memorial service for Patty will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Pauline Memorial Chapel at 2 Park Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80906. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to the El Pomar Foundation at 10 Lake Circle, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
