Patricia Eye, age 84, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 29.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; Harriett and Theodore Doyle, as well as her husband of over 50 years LTC Richard Eye. She is survived by her children; Jill (Christopher) Phillips, Colorado Springs, CO, Jeffrey Eye, Julie (Todd) Eye-Head in TX, as well as her 5 grandchildren; Dr. Alicia (Alex) Phillips-Rupe, Nathaniel and Joshua Phillips, Jeffrey and Wren Head, and her brother, Dennison (Bev) Doyle, Olney MD, and sister Jo (Mike) Hanshaw, Omaha, NE.
Patricia was born in Fairbury, NE on September 20, 1940. During High School she was the band majorette, she performed in many dance recitals, and was a lifeguard. She attended Monticello College in Alton, IL and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard, in 1961. As the wife of a soldier, they moved frequently until retiring in Colorado. Pat delighted in observing nature, as well as teaching her students in Georgia and Nebraska. She was often found in the stands supporting her children and most recently her grandchildren in their athletic and academic endeavors. She enjoyed camping, fishing, family game nights, movies, and arts/crafts. Pat was also involved in a gift basket business with Jill, family furniture stores, as well as a sports facility, Play it Now Sports.
A celebration of Life for Patricia will be held at 1PM on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Mountain View Church of Christ 1080 E La Salle St. Colorado Springs, CO 80907. The family requests wearing blue (Pat's favorite color) or bright colors celebrating her life well lived. Patricia and Richard will be laid to rest at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
