Patricia Feagler Obituary

Patricia Jeanette (O'Grady) Feagler, age 70, passed peacefully from this life on December 26, 2011. She was born on March 17, 1941, in Manhattan, NY. Patricia graduated from Wallkill Central High School, in Rock Tavern, NY. She went on to a career in business management employed by Household Finance and ultimately retiring as a manager from Ford Motor Credit in 2001. Her successful career in business was the direct result of her efficiency, integrity, perseverance and grit. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, camping, traveling, volunteering with her Red Hat Society group and (of course) gloating over her Irish heritage. More than that, she cherished the time that she spent hiking, playing and singing with her beloved grandchildren and pets. Her sense of humor, honesty and wisdom attracted people of all ages and she was loved by many. She had a talent for putting everyone in her presence at ease, and lightening the atmosphere in difficult times. She was always optimistic and confident in her pursuits. Above all, Patricia was true to herself, which propelled her through life's adversities. She leaves behind, her devoted husband of 21 years, James Feagler of Colorado Springs, sons: Joe (Sara) Winningham of McAllen, TX; Chris (Shelly) Aaland of Durango, CO; Jason Feagler of Colorado Springs; daughter: Kristen (Shawn) Foery of Lone Tree, CO; sisters: Kathleen O'Grady and Dottie Dixon of Arden, DE; and Nancy (Bill) Elberfeld of Montgomery, AL. Four adoring grandchildren also survive her: Joanna, Mollie and Bridgette Foery and Otto Aaland along with countless friends. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, James and Charlotte O'Grady, brother Jimmy O'Grady, and one grandson, Gus Aaland. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, January 6, 2012, at 1:00 PM. Advantage-Chapel of Memories is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made in her name to The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region. Online condolences may be made at Legacy.com.

PJ you didn't let me know you were going on a new adventure my dear friend. But I do toast to you. Our time together was the best ever. It was only 35-45 years pack full of laughs, crying and then lots more laughs. From one Irish Rose to another I raise my glass to a fine person. You loved with all your heart. I will forever miss you. Until we meet again. PC

Dandy, you were a beautiful, inspiring affectionate grandmother that I will never forget. Your smile beamed when shown. You made hot chocolate with marshmallows for me. You painted vivid pictures in my mind of what you did when you were my age. You pranced around the kitchen with me when listening to Shania Twain. You kept everything I made, even the silly stuff. You would take your time to make sure the pancakes with whipped cream and blueberries were cooked to perfection. You played rescue dog with me on the stairs. You were generous to Papa, your dogs, and me. You said, Never change yourself for those catty girls, I love you the way you are and always will.” You cried when I cried, which made me cry even more, and we cried until no more tears could be shed. You nurtured me like I was your own child. When you accidentally slipped a bad word, you would say, “Excuse my language,” and, “Don't tell your Mother.” Then we would get real quiet, and then burst out laughing. (Who knows why!?!) I would design a dress, or a shirt, and you would make it for me. When I was older Dandy taught me how to make pillows and blankets. One time, we even made a quilt. When I was a toddler, I slipped in a parking lot. When my Mom and I got to your house, as soon as I saw you I said, “Dandy I fell down in a poking lot.” You told me that story every time I spent the night at her house.

I met Pat over a year ago, who eventually became a frequent customer. I remember well our conversations about life etc., while upgrading her computer. Jim and family, my prayers are with you all. May Pat rest in peace, she will sadly be missed.

I met Pat a couple years ago at the park in our neighborhood. Her furry friend, Vanessa and my furry friend Cotton became friends. Pat and I also became friends and spent many hours visiting, we discovered her niece and I were friend. Soon she became Aunt Pat to me as well. I am very blessed and thankful that Pat came into mine and Cotton's lives. She had an amazing heart and soul. Even though Pat was in our lives for short period of time, we have so many memories to last a life time. Thank you Aunt Pat for all the love, words of wisdom and time shared. We love you and miss you

I can't think of one single person that did'nt love Pat. She surely leaves a legacy of strength, love and humor for all that were blessed to have known her. She will be missed.
