Patricia Harmon Obituary

Patricia Z. Harmon, surrounded by family and friends, passed into Heaven on Saturday, October 4, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Born on October 25, 1942 to Earl W. and Zora M. McQueary in Allegan, Michigan, Pat grew up in Middle Park, Colo. Throughout her childhood, Pat lived in various parts of Colorado and California as her parents managed Hereford cattle ranches.

In 1963, she married Gary Harmon and accompanied him wherever his military career took him including: Nevada, Japan, Michigan, and Indiana. In 1970, the couple and their young family planted their roots in Colorado Springs, CO.

Pat was always active, volunteering in the school district and Cub Scouts. Pat had many talents; over her career, she worked in retail, as a Tupperware manager, as an administrative assistant for District 11, and for Colorado Springs Engineering. In 1992, Pat returned to school to become a Certified Nursing Assistant so she could care for the elderly in their homes. Pat's caring nature led her to start a volunteer group in 2006 to make thousands of cookies to share with disadvantaged children at Christmas. She also enjoyed a good laugh and socializing with friends, qualities which led to her being an active member of the Red Hat Society.

Pat was a loving and generous person who made friends wherever she was; if you weren't her friend, she hadn't met you yet.

Her spirit is carried on by her husband Gary Harmon; three children Penny, Mark (Bobbie T.), and Kara (David Hinman); her brother Richard; nine grandchildren Deanna, Vivian, Nathan, William, Tommy, Millie, Eddie, Reg, and Jeannie. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Zora McQueary, and her sister Deanna.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to KTLF Light Praise Radio, www.lightpraise.org, or to your favorite charity.

A Celebration of Life service will be held October 25, 2014, 3 p.m. at Northeast Bible Chapel,1722 McArthur Avenue Colorado Springs, Colo. 80909
