Patricia Nelson Obituary

Patty, my beloved high school sweetheart, wife of 50 years, devoted mother, grandmother and best friend passed away on July 10 after a short battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). She was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey and graduated from Bridgeton Sr. High School. She also attended the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Patty was a devoted military wife and a career civil servant for the United States Air Force (USAF) and Department of Defense (DOD). She retired from the DOD after 20 years of service as a Finance Analyst. She loved her job and her duties took her to many exotic places such as Greenland, Australia, Europe, Asia, Panama and many more. Patty received numerous awards both from the USAF and the DOD.

When not traveling on the job, her passions were cooking, baking, traveling in the RV, reading a good book and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to tailgate at Air Force Football games and especially loved to travel in the RV to away games with special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Sam.

She is survived by her husband, Chuck; son, Chuckie; daughter, Michelle (husband Scott); sister, Donna (husband Jack); grandchildren: Jordyne, Casey, Hannah, Jesse and Addy; son in heart, Mark; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends worldwide.

Memorial Service to be held Saturday, July 19th 2:30pm at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel.

A Celebration of Life will be held following the memorial service beginning at 4pm at Biaggi's Italian Restaurant, 1805 Briargate Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80920.

In lieu of flowers donations made be made on her behalf to the MDA or Wounded Warrior Project.
