Patricia Smith Obituary

Patricia R. Smith went to her heavenly home on March 7, 2009. We are confident she received a warm reception and her complete healing but will be missed tremendously by those she touched with her generous and loving life. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years Howard, her sister Shirley Howard, her six children Michaela (Dave) Datz, Howard (Lisa) Smith, Kim (Erik) Reid, Tracy (David) Goodman, Scott Smith, and Lori (Steve) Black; as well as her 11 treasured grandchildren. Patricia was born in David City, Nebraska in 1931. She homesteaded in rural Wyoming and then attended nursing school in Washington DC. She married Howard P. Smith in Cheyenne, WY on August 7th, 1954. They embarked on a journey as a military family that took them to California, Okinawa, Oklahoma, Holland, New Mexico, Wyoming and then retiring in Colorado. She walked as one knowing the importance of giving yourself away to others in her personal life and in her 40 year nursing career. The family would like to express sincere appreciation for all of those whom have cared for Pat through her lengthy illness. The Rosary will be held at St. Peters in Monument, CO on Thursday March 12th at 5:00 pm followed by her Memorial on Friday at 11:00 am. Friends are warmly welcomed to attend.
