Patricia Soderlund Obituary

She was 61 years of age and living with her daughter in Coeur d'Alene when she passed away on Monday, January 17th 2011. She was born October 16, 1949 in Providence, Rhode Island to Leo and Rita Lloyd. She attended Saint Xavier's School in Providence RI, Rhode Island Junior College, and the University of Rhode Island as well as the University of New York in Syracuse. She had worked in Sheppard's department store, a jewelry factory, the Navy's Torpedo testing lab in Rhode Island, as well as held positions in the University of Rhode Island Library. She was also a landlord, and a loan officer. But her most important job was Mother. She met Bruce Soderlund while attending college and they were married October 23, 1971. She moved around the country with her family for many years before settling in Colorado Springs. Places she lived are Providence RI, Wickford RI, Yonkers NY, Kessler AFB MS, Griffiss AFB, Williamsburg VA, Alamogordo NM, Colorado Springs CO, Coeur d'Alene ID. She was a very faithful Traditional Roman Catholic and she did a lot of research on Catholicism. She would find the means to help others in need when she had none. She was also an avid reader, and loved gardening. She was a mother of three and Grandmother to nine with one more grandchild on the way. She loved to strike up conversations with random people in stores or on the street. She could talk for hours about her childhood and life experience. She is survived by her son, Peter and his wife Cindy; her daughter, Elysia and her husband Jonathan; and her daughter, Mara and her husband Jesse; her grandchildren, Peter, Jr., Laura, Matthew, Mckynzie, Michelle, Morghann, Genevieve, Michael, and Isabella; her brother, Richard and his wife Lynn; nephew, Brian and his wife and children; niece, Cheri and her husband and their children. She is predeceased by her husband, Bruce Soderlund(June 21st 2009); parents, Leo and Rita Lloyd (Leo - July 13th 2004, Rita - May 27th 2005); brother, Paul Lloyd (September 2009); brother -in-law, Richard Soderlund (2002); uncle, Father Paul Lloyd (January 2006); and nephew, Patrick Lloyd (2006). She will be greatly missed as she was loved by all that knew her. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 PM with a Rosary at 4:15 PM Sunday, January 23rd, 2011 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Ave. Colorado Springs, CO 80909. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am Monday, January 24th, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 626 Aspen Drive, Security, CO 80911.
