Patrick Daniel Collins, Jr. passed away very suddenly at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley after a severe sickle cell attack.
Patrick was born in Martinez, CA and graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in Concord.
Patrick spent many years working in the gaming and technology fields. Most recently he worked for Zynga as a Localization QA Coordinator. He was instrumental in guiding external QA test vendors in testing top Zynga games and ensuring that all the foreign languages in the games were translated correctly. Patrick was often seen with his beloved dog Bob at work, or playing a friendly game of ping pong or Tekken during lunch. His interests included: video gaming, cars, the Japanese language and culture, basketball, bicycling, and shoe collecting. More than anything Patrick loved to spend time with his children.
Patrick is survived by his eternally devoted wife, Megan Malone-Collins; children, Jaeda and Jeremiah; parents Patrick and Patricia Williams of Oakland and Synthia Collins of Oakland; sisters Tanya Scalzo and Roezell (Alonzo) Carter; brothers James and Jason Williams; grandmothers Grace Collins of Antioch and Rosalie Campbell of Bay Point, and many, many more nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Patrick is also survived by his in-laws Dennis and Gail Malone, his brother -in-law Matt Malone and his sister-in-law Katie Malone, all of Concord.
Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral service on January 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St Paul Lutheran Church, 1658 Excelsior Ave, Oakland, CA.
