Patrick Donatto Obituary

Patrick Joseph Donatto entered this world on October 3, 1946, and went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2016. Patrick, 69, passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Patrick is preceded in death by his natural father, Patrick Joseph Donatto, his mother, Teresa Donatto (Conant), two infant brothers, and one infant sister, and daughter, Stacy M. Donatto.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 9 years, Mary J. Donatto (Theuer), his loving ex-wife, Yolanda Donatto (Quintana). He is survived by his five children: Dean, Nicole, Travis, Rose, and John. His 11 talented, loving grandchildren: Maddelein, Dominic, Haley, Hannah, Alex, Lauren, Shannon, Cameron, Christopher, Jacob, and Crystal, as well as brother, David (Penni), sister Arlene (James) and many cousins, nephews, nieces.

From age 6, he was raised by his dad, Alexis C. Donatto, and mother, Theresa. He moved to Colorado Springs, after serving in the U.S. Navy, as an electrician. Patrick had a successful career as a machinist for 30 years. He then became a courier for 12 years. Patrick was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, skiing, rock hounding, bowling, his iris and fish clubs, and countless hours spent with his grandchildren.

Patrick's smile lit up the room. He was full of spontaneity, frequently getting his grandchildren in trouble, and made lasting friends wherever he went.

Friends and family are invited to the visitation and rosary at Mountain View Mortuary on May 17th from 5 to 7 PM. Funeral services are at Corpus Christi Catholic Church on May 18th at 10 AM.

Knowing Pat touched my life. I have special memories of sitting around my dining room table with Mary and Pat My most special memory of Pat is when Mary and Pat were the first friends to come to my house to support me when my house had been burglarized. They stayed with me for hours comforting me. I will always be grateful for the gifts of devotion and caring Pat and Mary gave to me during that challenging time.Pat's love, kindness, and being there for others was such a blessing to so very many.Love and prayers to the family as you heal from a broken heart in the loss of your Beloved Patrick.

Pat Donatto was certainly one of my favorite cousins and like a big brother to us Gregory kids. I loved our visits to Colorado Springs as we were growing up- in particular the 1970 when Uncle Chester retired and just my dad , my brother Tim and myself. Pat turned me on to some great albums of the day (McCartney) and was fun to talk to about music and sound, as he worked at Ampex. I probably spoke the longest to Pat at my dad's services in '91 then any of my relatives. God bless you on the next plain, and our love goes out to Arlene David Chester and all the family.

To my Aunts Mary and Yolanda, Nicole & Dean, Grandpa, Mom, Uncle Dave and all of our family: We so wish we could be there to celebrate the life of Uncle Pat.
I will miss his laugh, the memory of all his fish downstairs, the time we went fishing for rainbow trout and the Bronco almost went over the side of the mountain, and when Dean busted my face with a baseball,he took me straight away to the emergency room.
He was quite a man and I will always treasure the times we had in Colorado and even if they have been less frequent as we have gotten older.
Love to you and all the Donattos

Pat you're one of the nicest people I've ever been around. You were a hard worker, but always knew how to have fun, and always kept us laughing. Any child in your vicinity was drawn to you and loved getting your attention, probably because you were a kid at heart yourself. You are irreplaceable, one of a kind, and I'm going to miss you my friend!

Dearest Pat through your life you touched so many people either through love or just friendship leaving us with so many memories. The deep feeling of loss and sadness that I now feel I know will ease with the memories of your kind, tender, and generous soul. the last time I signed a guestbook was at your beautiful wedding to Mary. This final book I sign again with all my love and friendship.

My beautiful brother, Patrick, was such a sincere and genuine person with a heart bigger than anyone I knew. He will always be the big brother who could "wow" me with all the things he was passionate about and will always be a part of me. I will look to the glorious day when we will all be together for eternity!
