Paul Henry Ames, 78, of Monument, Colorado, passed away January 13, 2025 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He was born October 13, 1946 to Albert and Nina Ames in a cabin on the Charley River in Northern Alaska.
Paul attended Sheldon Jackson and Cordova High School and joined the Army in 1965. Paul worked as an aircraft mechanic for 41 years.
He was involved in Tri Lakes Cruiser Car Club, the NRA, and loved shooting sports, hunting (especially in Alaska), fishing, and fixing old cars. He was especially proud of his time as a commercial fisherman in Alaska. He had an astonishing ability to remember all the words to songs.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Daniel Ames and James Rankin; and sister, Molly Brown.
Paul is survived by his wife, Margaret Ames of Monument, CO; son, Michael (Jessica) Crothamel of Tacoma, Washington; stepdaughters, Donna (Jim) Shell of Colorado Springs, CO, and Lori Hammond of Monument, Colorado; brother, Albert Ames of Anchorage, Alaska; sister, Jerri Hampton of Charleston, South Carolina; and grandchildren, Bryson, Kristen, Trey, Jillian, Allison, and Henry.
