Paul Light Obituary

Light
PAUL E. LIGHT
December 25, 1933 March 10, 2021
Paul E. Light, Jr of Monument, CO died 10 March 2021 at the age of 87 years. He was born Christmas day, 1933 in St Louis, MO. He was the last to survive of five children of Paul E Light and Ruth Mabel Slade, both from Missouri.
He graduated from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1953 with a BS in Pharmacy and entered service in the US Air Force. He was a navigator/bombardier having flown the B-25, B-66, C-123, C-124 and AC-47. He served in Vietnam, twice receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and retired after 26 years at the rank of Colonel. He was a youth baseball coach, soccer coach and volunteered with the American Red Cross. His retirement years were spent golfing, hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren, and traveling to musters with his wife Darlene in their RV.
Paul was a dedicated, loving husband and father. Rather than tout his own accomplishments, he relished the simpler time spent with family and friends and the celebrations of his sons and grandchildren's accomplishments.
He is survived by Darlene, his wife of 65 years, his 3 sons, Ken, Kevin and Jeff, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He will be interred at Ft. Logan National cemetery with military honors at a date yet to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or online at woundedwarriorproject.org/donate. Questions can be referred to Jeff Light at (303)596-3340
