Paul Shockey Obituary

Paul William Shockey, age 63, of Colorado Springs, passed away on May 18th, 2007. He was born on July 17, 1943, in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was the son of Naomi and Paul M. Shockey. He was a retired Marine that served his country proudly in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Martha Shockey, his three children, Felicia Russell, Shari Toomey, and Paul Shockey Jr. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren; Edward Toomey V, Tyler Toomey, Allison Toomey, Austin Shockey, Taryn Shockey, Caleb Russell, and Brennen Russell. He is also survived by his sister, Julie Prushing, and brother, Derek Mallow. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Mallow. He was a man that was loved and respected by his family and friend and by all that knew him. He was a family man that worked hard to provide for his family. He was a man that loved to fish and hunt, but over the last years was unable to indulge these pleasures because of failing health. He derived immense pleasure from watching his grandchildren learn and grow and from his beloved bulldogs; Josie, Solo, and Bruiser, who were his constant companions. His passing has left a void that is wide and deep. He leaves behind so many that loved him and he will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 24, at 1:00 p.m., at Sunrise United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs, 2655 Briargate Blvd. (719)598-7013

Martha, I just read the forwarded note from Rick Angelico. I am so very sorry for your loss. We will all miss Gunny. So many have asked about him at the shows of late and I had no answer to give them. Please let me know if there is anything at all that I can do for you.

I had the opportunity to meet Paul at a Sodexho picnic a couple of years back. He was a very nice and pleasant man. You could see the joy in his eyes when he was around his grandkids. I am so sorry for your loss Martha. My prayers go out to you and the family at this sad time. May God be with you all in your time need. Love you always!
