Paula Ruth (Swinehart) Crawford was born in Portland, OR, to Paul and Agnes (Ward) Swinehart; she moved to Colorado Springs when she was 8. She married Charles Crawford in 1958, and served as a pastor's wife in Ohio, Ontario, West Virginia, and Colorado. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2008, 7 months before Charles' death. She trained and worked as an RN, but always regarded her calling as that of wife and mother, which she discharged with love, dedication, and self-sacrifice.
Paula was preceded in death by her husband Charles, three brothers (Samuel, Paul, and Donald Swinehart), and her parents.
Survivors include her sons Paul (Ardella) and Daniel (Kimberly), three grandchildren, and her brother Martin (Elaine).
Paula was a member of St. George's Anglican in Colorado Springs. Memorial donations may be made to St. George's at 217 E. Pikes Peak Ave., Colo. Spgs. 80903, or to Justin Parker Neurological Institute, 4743 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder 80302. She wished to extend special thanks to the nurses of Compassus, the caregivers of Synergy, Dr. Stephen Barrick, and friends and family who lovingly cared for her in her last months.
Visitation at St. George's Anglican, Thursday, August 5, 5-7 PM. Funeral at St. George's Anglican, Friday, August 6, 2 PM. Burial Monday morning at 10 AM at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.
