Paula Murray Obituary

Paula Marie Murray of Chipita Park, CO died unexpectedly August 9, 2015 from complications of undetected colon cancer. She was 70 years old.

Paula was born on March 18, 1945 to Kenneth W. and Grace A. (Jones) Murray in Peoria, IL. She was the youngest of 6 children. Paula grew up in East Peoria, IL and spent winters in Miami, FL. She graduated from East Peoria Community High School in 1963.

In September of 1963, Paula married Paul A. Romans. They have 2 daughters, Anita and Marie. They divorced in 1985. In 1989, Paula partnered with Ross M. Buchner.

Paula enjoyed learning new skills and she had a variety of jobs. She drove a school bus. She sold appliances, jewelry and computers. She was a full charge bookkeeper and had her own accounting service. She drove a semi truck all over the United States and Canada, a side dump for a construction company and a haul truck for a mine. She loved a challenge and took pride in doing a job well.

Paula was a caring, generous person and never hesitated to help others. She helped many people over the years and changed many lives. She was an amazing & wonderful woman who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Paula is survived by her life partner, Ross M. Buchner of Chipita Park, CO; her brothers, Kenneth W. Murray, Jr. of York, PA, Charles P. Murray of Alpine, CA and John E. Murray II of Peoria IL; her sister, Julia I.Strickfaden of Morton, IL; her daughters, Anita M. Lehnus of Benson, AZ and Marie A. Frisby of Colorado Springs, CO; her grandchildren, Dennis Romans of Tooele, UT, Derek Romans of Reynolds, IN, Whitney Huff of Albuquerque, NM, Rebecca Pennington of Edmonds, WA and Chris Lehnus of Daejeon, Korea; 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Shirley J. Blake; 5 nieces, 1 nephew, and 1 grand niece.

Per Paula's wishes, she has been cremated and no services are planned.

Since Paula was a generous and caring person, the family suggests an act of kindness or a donation to a favorite cause or charity in her name.
