Pauline Allen Obituary

Pauline Allen, age 86, went home to her Lord and Savior September 14, 2011 with family and friends by her side. Born March 18, 1925 in Rocky Ford, Colorado to William and Mildred (Craig) Allen, she moved to Colorado Springs in 1939. After forty years of dedicated service, Pauline retired as a manager from Mountain Bell Telephone Company/US West and Qwest Communications in 1981 but remained very active in the telephone company's Pioneers Club. Pauline spent her last six years at the Inn at Garden Plaza where staff and residents alike loved and respected her. They, along with her many lifelong friends, know she traveled extensively, enjoyed Bible Study, and was intimately familiar with all the good restaurants in town. She had the gift of storytelling and always appreciated a good joke. Pauline kept close to friends in need, always checking in and encouraging them. She was actively involved with the First Christian Church for over sixty years and was a blessing to all who knew her. Always a lady, Pauline was candid, witty, and far ahead of her time. She will be deeply missed. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the Shrine of Remembrance. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum. A reception will follow the funeral at the Inn at Garden Plaza.
