Juanita and Family:
Judi and I will never forget your friendship across the years, and most especially when we first arrived in Swaziland. Your support and wise advice about puzzling matters within the missionary family helped us through a very rough time. Subsequent times with you in the States have been sweet memories for us. We remember the wit and wisdom of Bill as well as his outstanding service to the denomination. May God bless you and your children....

Juanita and family, I am so sorry to hear about Bill's passing, but I do know you are celebrating the life he lived. He was a great mentor to me in Africa. Praying for you all during this time.

As you know, Bill loved to laugh and enjoyed cheerful banter. One of my last conversations with him several days ago was, of all possible topics, his explaination of the term, obsequies. Our talk was sprinkled with his characteristic humor and play on words.
Bill was creative and loved to use puns. I still have his essay that he gave me in April 1998: "An Account of the Obsequies of an Obsequious Swine: An Ode to a Faithful Servant." It's the obituary of Porcine P. Pig, a 47-year-old cutting board.
Juanita, I pray you will sense the Presence of our Lord very near as you grieve the loss of your husband. Please know I will miss him greatly as a friend. The thought of you and Bill at the Nazarene Bible College bookstore and at First Nazarene on Sunday mornings is always a beatitude.

Auntie Juanita, Bev, & Mike, I'm very sorry you've lost Uncle Bill. I thought the world of him, and all of you. The pictures bring back wonderful memories. I hope his service will be as much of a celebration as Mom's was in July.

We well remember our first time to visit the Moons at Piggs Peak. What wonderful hosts! The stories and the food were both outstanding! What a privilege it has been to know Bill and Juanita. And, yes, our kids also were entertained by Uncle Bill with the lion story!! We are saddened by his passing, but rejoice in his sure faith. We send our love and condolences to Juanita, Beverly, Mike and their families.

Juanita, MIke and Bev: We were saddened to hear the news about Bill. The Moon family was always kind and generous to a couple of "junior" missionaries when we were lonely, discouraged and struggling with a new country, culture and people. We will always remember the leadership and management skills of Bill as the Nazarene schools' superintendent in Swaziland. We are praying for you and trust God and friends nearby will comfort you.

Christmas brings several memories of Uncle Bill Moon. At the much anticipated Manzini Swaziland Christmas missions gatherings of the missionaries and us children, uncle Moon could be coaxed to tell his Lion story . Us children never tired of the story as the lion was encountered and the preacher back tracked and ran away from the lion. I wonder if there are others out there who remember his story? All of us had our heritage as MKs' enhanced by knowing the Moons.. He will be missed yet he still serves as a reminder of our responsibility to carry the mantel he has laid off. Praying for the whole family at this time.

We were so saddened when we heard of Bill's sudden passing. He was so special to us, as are you, Juanita. I'll never forget his coming to find me at the university at Kwaluseni just after my arrival in Swaziland in 1975. You both have been some of our fondest supporters ever since.
