Peter B. Uhlik, age 67, passed away on February 3, 2025 in Colorado Springs surrounded by family members. Peter was born in Paterson, New Jersey and was the son of the late Paula M. Uhlik and Felix T. Uhlik, Jr. For the past two years, Peter was a resident of the Pikes Peak Post Acute Care Center in Colorado Springs. Born with Down's Syndrome, he moved to Colorado Springs in 1989 with his family. He was a client of Goodwill and Special Kids Special Families Joey's Place. Peter had many interests and enjoyed coloring in his own unique style, bowling with the High Country Rollers bowling league, taking endless photographs, listening to Elvis Presley music and the weather stations and relishing pizza and pasta.
Peter is survived by his sister, Sandra Uhlik, who was his primary caregiver over the past 12 years, brother, Felix (Nancy) Uhlik III of Colorado Springs, and brother Paul (Fran) Uhlik of Clifton, New Jersey. He is also survived by nephews Brian (Amy) Uhlik and Mark (Leigh) Uhlik and niece Jessica Rose and seven great nieces and nephews. A funeral mass to celebrate his life will take place at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Colorado Springs on March 3, 2025 at 10:00AM with rosary starting at 9:15AM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association or Special Kids Special Families in Colorado Springs.
