Phyllis (Ann) Wildman of Colorado Springs passed away at Liberty Heights on June 6, 2016.
Ann was born July 19, 1926 in Ashtabula, Ohio to Maurice and Gertrude Mitchell. While living in Marietta, Ohio in 1945, Ann met and married then Lt. Winthrop William (Bill) Wildman, a recent graduate of West Point. Together, they enjoyed a fulfilling Air Force career with numerous stateside and overseas assignments in Germany, Japan, Formosa (Taiwan), France and Romania. Ann was fully involved in her husband's career.
Ann and Bill retired at Francis E. Warren AFB and moved to Colorado Springs in 1975, became joint and eventual sole owners of a real estate brokerage near Woodmoor. In addition to running the company with Bill, Ann also obtained her Realtor license and sold homes, many relocating and retiring Air Force officers.
Ann was a devout Christian, loved people, and shared a generosity of spirit with everyone she met. She loved being an Air Force career wife and mother, traveling the world and regaling her family and friends with stories. Other passions were current events, politics, reading, daily cipher quote / word jumble, Air Force Academy football, gourmet cuisine and her pets.
Among her many joys in a life well-lived, Ann counted her family as first among them. Ann is survived by her children Karen Spiker, married to Air Force Academy graduate Col. (Ret.) Phil Spiker currently of Louisville, Kentucky and David Wildman, Air Force Academy graduate, married to Olga, currently of Atlanta, Georgia. In addition, she was survived by six grandchildren Sean Hogarty, Courtney Martin, Julianna Oakes, Lindsay Kuntz, Kirsten Wildman, Stephanie Sorensen, and by her 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Janice Day and Barbara Johnston.
Ann was predeceased by her husband Bill Wildman and their son Steven Wildman, graduate of The Citadel, who had followed in his father's footsteps as an Air Force pilot, and died on active duty as a T-38 Instructor Pilot at William's AFB in 1977.
Ann Wildman will be buried adjacent to her husband at the Air Force Academy during a private family service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to
