Pierre Anctil Obituary
PIERRE ANCTIL, O.D.
May 14, 1956 - July 16, 2018
Colorado Springs and Woodland Park Optometrist of 34 years, Dr Pierre Anctil passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2018. Born in Fall River, MA, he moved to Colorado Springs upon graduation from Optometry school in 1982. He served as a Captain/Optometrist while stationed at Peterson Air Force Base eye clinic. Upon completion of his military obligation he and his wife remained in Colorado Springs. Together they enjoyed all Colorado has to offer, from the active pursuits of skiing, hiking and mountain biking to the sublime pleasures of sunrises, sunsets and quiet times spent together.
He loved his profession and the patients he was privileged to serve. He carried himself with compassion and humor. He served his profession by being a member of the Colorado Optometric Association's board of trustees eventually ascending to a term as President.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years and best friend of 44 years, Patricia Anctil, and by his sister, Jeannine, his nieces, Karen and Lynn, his great nephews, Mark and Matthew and brother in-laws, Norman, Michael, John, William and Thomas Sloan and their families, as well as the "family" he was able to choose, his friends the Tremmel, Koenig, Berube and Semine families.
In lieu of flowers, he requests you donate blood and have your eyes examined.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 12th, at 3 p.m. at Hillside Gardens, 1006 S. Institute, Colorado Springs.

We are so saddened to hear of the great loss of Pierre. He was such a kind man. Our whole family was blessed to have him as our optometrist for over ten years. Upon moving here to the Springs he made us always feel welcome and as if we were his favorite patients. Praying for your family and may you have many cherished memories.

Condolences and prayers for Dr. Anctil's family and close friends in this difficult time of loss. Dr. Anctil was especially good at his job and helped me through some painful times with my eyes, willing to drop everything and come on an evening appointment during a crisis. His professionalism was extraordinary, and his kindness, genuine. You will be missed.

Pete was an amazing, caring and wonderful person. He loved life and all it had to offer and enjoyed it to the fullest with Pat, the love of his life. I feel blessed and privileged to have known him as friend and patient.
