Rachel Bruington Obituary

March 11, 1981 - May 20, 2008. Rachel was born on March 11, 1981 in Midland, Texas. Rachel was very special because she was the first child for her mother and first grandchild for her maternal family in Texas. As a small girl her baby blue eyes and golden hair and rose petal lips could captive anyone near her. She was especially fond of animals of all kinds and always managed to have several around her during her lifetime. Rachel always had a warm, kind heart for everyone she knew and was loved by so many. She was a homemaker and a powerfully devoted mother to her children. Her infectious laugh and smile will be missed. She is loved by her mother Carla DeKalb, stepfather Thomas DeKalb, brother Geoffrey Warden, step sister Amanda DeKalb all of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by her father, Dale Richard Warden; maternal grandparents, Frank and Viola Merritt all of Midland, Texas; paternal grandmother, Jacqueline Warden; uncle, John Warden and aunt, Linda Warden of Walnut Creek, California; uncles, Glenn Merritt of Palestine, Texas and Mark Merrit of Lubbock, Texas. You will forever be in our hearts, Love, Mom

Carla,
I know that there are no words that can really help during a time like this. Continue to draw your strength from the Lord as I know you have been doing. As you draw closer to Him, He will draw closer to you. Your family in Black Forest loves you and we are carrying you in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Bryan, Tammy & Nev

Our prayers & thoughts are with you as you grieve thru this hardest of all partings...that of a child! When you feel a soft touch on your cheek, know that Rachel is giving you a kiss to let you know she loves you. Despite her turbulent journey, she has gone to her final destination to be with Jesus. She is at peace & will watch over you as your own special angel!
