Rad was 13. I was 12. His father was the music teacher. Rad walked in the music room, sat at piano and played the intro to The Rolling Stones famous song"Let´s spend the night together ". I fell instantly in love. We moved out of state and I don´t think I ever saw him, again. That was sooo many years ago and I still remember him. I´m happy to see that he a Fredi did some HS plays togas she was also someone I remember,kindly..peace to all his loved ones.

So strange, I was just trying to remember a song he and his band played for me in Cripple Creek "Aimie" by pure Prairie League. I was awake hours trying to remember. My daughter remembered and I so remember Radford and miss him. We worked at Digital together too. I pray you are resting in peace Rad. Miss you always.

Celeste,
My most fond memory is when I came out to visit you and Rad… You both were great hosts!! I hade such a great time the best part of the visit was when I learned what(Radford quiet time was) ha ha ha and even though I talked a lot which drove Rad crazy wondering if I ever shut up! I was honored by him waking me in the middle of the night (With your permission of course) to talk and listen to him pick his banjo and give me my own special concert =) Rad will forever hold a special place in my heart… Thank you for ever lasting memories
I had with you there at “Camp Huffman”
Love always, ~Heather

I both worked with Rad at Digital in the Spings and enjoyed him immensely on stage up in Green Mountain Falls. Class is a good word for Rad, along with a talented good friend who will be missed greatly.

I was very sorry to hear that Rad had passed away. The memories of high school seem distant at times, but not the memory of a great talented guy. I know he will be missed by all.

I used to listen to the Radford & Lewis Band with a group of family & friends in the mid & late 70s. I think I have an old 45 of Cactus Wine somewhere. He was such a talented man. May your memories of Rad comfort you.

Celeste:
I just found out about Rad. I am so very sorry and saddened. Although we didn't spend much time together as adults I remember Rad in high school and have listened to his music many times. His abilities as a picker have been an inspiration to me. You and I talked more than once about me getting together with Rad and pickin' some music. It never happened as life seemed to get in the way. The next time I take my ole Martin guitar out to play at another gig, I will do my darndest to make Rad proud. God bless you and his family.

Celeste,
I was very saddened to hear of Rad's passing. While it's been years since we saw each other - a DEC Reunion I believe - I've thought about him often. Like others, he remains with me always in the music he shared with us. Rad came into my family's life when I hired him into DEC in the early 80's. He soon became a cherished friend to me, my wife, and all of my children. He will be sorely missed by all. But during his life he did what we all should hope to do - he brought something of value to all of us, and has left a piece of himself here with us to continue to touch others whom he has never even met. I believe the true measure of a man's life can only be found in what he leaves behind. I can only hope to leave behind as much as he has.
My thoughts are with you, in hopes that you will fill the void he has left in his absence with your fondest memories of Rad.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Rad. I worked with him many years ago at Digital. We worked in the Reliability Lab. He was such a great guy and very sincere. I thought of him then as a big brother, he always advised me in a loving way. I still listen to his music. His heart and presence on this earth will be missed and my heart goes out for his wife and family.

Oh Celeste, I don’t know what to say, except that I am in disbelief.
It was never about Rad; he always had compassion for others. Rad loved life, photography, people, kids, Colorado Mountains, sunsets, and sunrises; to name a few. When I was having a lousy day I knew all I had to do was look for “Rad in the lab” … he’d stop testing (storage), pull up a chair for a hurting fellow, and listen. He was so sensitive to other’s needs …
He always wanted to share his riches (home, food, money, Trout Haven) with others. For example, he’d say, "Come to Trout Haven, we will have food, fishing, singing, and lots of laughs!”
He will be greatly missed.

Celeste,
I was so saddened to read of Rad's passing. I remember fondly the times when he was teaching himself the banjo, and he would come to our house to "pick and jam" with my dad, Ted. We would sing and laugh the evenings away. Rad was a very gifted and talented musician, and a really great guy. He will be missed by so many. My condolences to you and the family.

Celeste, I am so sorry for your loss. I was shocked and saddened to see this in the newspaper. I worked with Rad at Compaq/HP and had so many good times sharing jokes at work. I remember one year for Halloween, he was a hill billy and played his banjo in the lab. I have to smile when I remember how much we laughed that day. He will be missed by many.

Celeste, Colette and I are so sorry of your loss. Rad took with him a great deal of love that will be held in the memories of many. I remember the wonderful times we had sitting by the bomb fire, laughing, singing and picking. I know that Rad will be sitting with his banjo, a funny story ready to tell, waiting for each of us to arrive in Heaven. Our thoughts and prayers go with you. Sincerely,

Celeste,
I was in town for a few short days and came by your shop for Debbie's hair stuff. I received the news the very day of Rad's passing. God put me there for whatever reason. Maybe because of the lunchtime chats we had at HP, or maybe because we kept trying to have the both of you over to the house.....or maybe just because the good Lord has always placed me in the presence of the best he has to offer. "When God made the heavens and earth, he planned treasures for us to find. Like love.....and life....and people like Rad." Don and Deb Beson

I have been in shock since Donnie B. called me last week. My good friend Rad is gone?!? I remember sitting around the campfires or at the cabin at Trout Haven. Him sitting there with his tin cup. Working with Rad at Apple, SCI and HP. What happened? Celeste, I am so sorry and sad. I don't know what else to say. He will be greatly missed by the many people that knew him.

Paul and I are so sorry to hear about Rad's passing. We met Rad 20 years ago when we were house hunting and came across this cute little passive-solar house for sale in Divide. It was Rad's and we had the pleasure to get to know this unique and genuine individual during the process of buying his house. Our thoughts and prayers are with Celeste and family.

I am very sad and shocked to hear this. I knew Rad from Digital, and then later my daughter and I would go to Cripple Creek to hear both he and Lewis play at the Pheonix House. He would play my favorite bluegrass tune each time he would see me enter, "Amy" Oh he will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones. Rita Kerr

I am so sad to hear of the loss of a very talented, special man. Rad was my "leading man" in several different ways when we were much younger and still living in WP, and he was always the guy I could count on to make sure that I knew there was much more to life in a small town than just growing old. Although I hadn't spoken to him in years, my heart will always hold him in a very, very special place. God Bless you Rad, and God Bless your family and friends and all those who will miss you.

I am so sorry to read in the paper today that a great friend has passed on.He was a super guy.I worked with Rad a Digital many years ago. What good times we had. I loved his music and him. I took one of his tapes to Denver one time and gave it to Kenny Rogers in hopes that he would listen and like at least one. And record it. Did'nt happen. We tried Rad! Had not seen him for quite afew years. But still thought of him now and then.Love to his family.Another one gone that was to young to die. Bev spencer
