Rajesh Roeren Obituary

TOGETHER WITH LOVE IN LIFE AND DEATH

"When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced, live your life in a manner so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice"

With profound grief and sorrow, we mourn the sudden and untimely demise of our beloved Rajesh Sharma, 50 and his dearest wife, Tone M. Roeren, 52. Deeply in love, they shared many passions and were always supportive of each other. Rajesh is survived by his parents, three sisters, one brother and their families. Tune is survived by her parents, two sisters, one brother and their families.

Rajesh loved his work and his family; and made friends easily with his outgoing nature and loveable personality. A gold medalist from Delhi University and PhD from City University of New York, he had an illustrious career driven by his thirst for knowledge, perfection and originality. This resulted in publishing a large number of patents for his employer, Verizon. His passions included traveling, researching, music, collection of rocks/ fossils and cooking.

Tone, a very compassionate soul, loved her family and friends and was a very caring person. She was a trained nurse. She was adventurous and lived and travelled around the world a lot. She spent her last 15 years here in Colorado Springs, working for Kinder Morgan. Her passions were history and archeology.

Raj and Tone will be deeply missed by parents, siblings, nephews, nieces, friends, extended family members and loved ones. We wish that you share their memories in the Guest Book below.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of Raj and Tone. I knew Raj when we were both new faculty at WMU. As I read the comments from many (especially his brother Seema), the memories from those days flooded in. Though I lost contact, I think of him every time I make dal and use his trick of adding other beans with the lentil. He taught me many tricks in our weekly Indian cooking nights. His smile and laugh and kindness were contagious, as was his mischievous side. Raj, I will keep you in my thoughts, and you will continue to make me smile-always. -george

I worked with Tone at El Paso (now Kinder Morgan) many years ago. She had such a zest for life and I was so happy for her when I heard she met someone that matched her zeal. I lost touch with her over the years but thought of her often. My deepest condolences to Rajesh's and Tone's families.

Very shocking. Raj, my brother, was someone who really lived his life to the fullest. Words cannot describe him as his spirit touched many lives. He loved dancing, cooking, traveling and shared ONLY happiness. Raj was so well-respected and everyone always had such kind things to say about him. Nobody can take his place. I will be missing him forever Seema

Tone and Raj were our beloved neighbors for many years. Our hearts are broken. We enjoyed many good dinners, conversations and jokes with two very kind, loving and hospitable friends. Throughout the years we shared many good times and couldn't ask for better neighbors!. As well as good times with our dogs. We were common pet lovers. May you rest in eternal peace. May your positive energy live forever. Our sincerest condolences to your families.
