Ralph Benjamin Obituary

Ralph Stanley Benjamin, Jr., "Ben", 68, of Manitou Springs, Colorado, passed away January 20, 2016.

Ben was born June 13, 1947, in Elmira, NY, to Stanley and Helen Benjamin. He graduated from Horseheads High School before receiving his Associates Degree from the State University of NY. In 1967, he enlisted in Air Force and served his four years working at NORAD in Colorado Springs.

On June 5, 1971, he married Myra Ann Reissig. Together they lived and raised a family in Manitou Springs. Ben worked for Command Sciences and Sun Country after leaving the military, but spent the bulk of his career working for FedEx as a database specialist. He full-filled a lifelong desire to complete his education earning his Bachelor's degree from Regis University in 1998 and his MBA from Colorado Tech in 2002. After retiring from Fedex in 2002, he spent his days enjoying family and the outdoors.

Ben is survived by Myra, his son Jarrod and wife Melanie, daughters Danielle, and Breeanna and husband George, grandson Brayden, brother Jack and wife Sue, Alan and wife Jacque, and sister Patricia and husband John, 7 nieces and nephews (Kelly, Mark, Jeff, Audra, Kim, Alex and Garrett), and 12 great nieces and nephews and 3 cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley Benjamin Sr and Helen Lentz Benjamin.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday January 30 at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Colorado Springs, CO. A reception will be held be after.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Penrose St Francis Health Foundation CCU in memory of Ralph S. Benjamin, 2222 N. Nevada, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.
