Ralph Justin Huber, 92 of Colorado Springs entered Heaven's gate on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. He was surrounded by his children and Hilda Melendez Huber, wife of 70 years. He was born on July 9, 1930, on his family's farm in Rulo, Nebraska. He was the 6th child in a family of 7 children to Carl and Janet Huber.
Ralph spent the majority of his adult life serving in the United States Army and retiring with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He proudly fought with his soldiers during the Korean War and Vietnam War. After retiring, he turned his interests into serving the public where he owned and operated an insurance agency. Ralph was a selfless man, full of integrity, who went out of his way to serve his family and community.
He loved his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the simple things in life, such as hunting or camping. Ralph is survived and missed by his loving wife, Hilda Melendez Huber; and his 7 children and spouses, Robert and Dixie Huber, Donald and Donna Huber, Richard Huber, Cathy Huber-Beach and spouse Paul Beach, David and Sue Marie Huber, Diana Huber-Bliss and spouse Thomas Bliss, and Michael and Natalia Huber. Forever cherished and remembered by his 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Ralph's favorite color is red. His family has requested that everyone wear the color red to his visitation and funeral.
Visitation will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E Fountain Blvd. on Monday, January 23 2023 from 2-5pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Jospehs Catholic Church 1830 S Corona Ave. on Tuesday January 24 2023 at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery at 12pm.

A few years ago we sat in my grandpas back yard and he showed me a the maple behind his house. He said it turns the most beautiful shades of red in the autumn and how much he enjoyed watching it. He was so passionate about trees.
Last summer he gifted me a maple as a house warming present. I will think of him every year as the maple grows and turns beautiful colors of red.
