Raymond Almeida Obituary

Raymond Almeida left this earth to be with God on February 20th, 2011 at the age of 82. He was born October 3, 1928 in Taunton, Massachusetts. Raymond went into the Army in 1947. He served our country proudly for four years and saw action for two years in the Korean Conflict. He resided in Colorado Springs afterwards where he married the love of his life wife Margie in 1951 who he is survived by along with his 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Children -Vince and his wife Michele, Victor, Vance and his wife Oleta and 1 daughter - Valorie and her husband John. Grandchildren - Cassie, Adam, Joshua, Kylie and Austin. Ray had 3 sisters and was one of eight boys. He was preceded in death by brothers Charles, Frank, Manny, Joe and George, as well as sisters Alice and Isabel. He is survived by brothers Arthur, David and his sister Mary. Ray retired in 1984 from his civil service position at Fort Carson. Ray was a devoted husband and father as he loved dancing with his wife, going fishing, visiting family back on the east coast and going on cruise vacation with his children. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW post 4051 and Holy Family/St. Dominic's Catholic Church. Ray will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 23rd from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Rosary will be follow at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 24th at 12:00pm at St. Dominic Catholic Church.
