In the small hours of the morning of January 14th, 2026, Rex Willard Kramer Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed quietly in his sleep with his family by his side. He died at Penrose Hospital following complications of a stroke suffered in early December.
Born in Los Angeles, California June 22, 1934, to Rex Willard Sr. & Ruth Roseberry Kramer.
Rex went to school locally and went on to college at Stanford University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude in 1956.
Rex served his country honorably for 23 years in the US Navy, much of it in the nuclear attack submarine program. During his service he also completed his Master's in Accounting. Following his naval retirement, he worked as a CPA and small business owner, before retiring in 1997 and moving to Colorado Springs to be closer to family.
He was active in preserving Davis Ranches (the family legacy farm in Colusa, California), enjoyed skiing well into his eighties, scuba diving and hiking 14ers for many years and was happiest outdoors surrounded by family and friends. He was a passionate supporter of the arts, especially music, and active in the Over the Hill Gang and Kiwanis.
Rex is preceded in death by his parents (Rex Sr. & Ruth), his first wife (Karen), son (James) and three siblings.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia Crater, siblings; Louise Siri and Judith Schluchter (m. Manfred), children; Laurie Zickefoose (m. Buzz), Timothy Kramer, Tamara Dickinson, Elizabeth Brunner (m. Josef), grandchildren; Jennifer, Kaylee, Davis, Tarrah, Torri, Josef, great grandchildren; Jack, Zoey and Christopher and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be held February 5th at 10:00 AM (interment in the Chapel Columbarium to follow) at:

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Heifer Project or Habitat for Humanity in memory of Rex.
