Ricardo Jose Olivares, 70, passed away at his home in Security, Colorado on May 12, 2023.
He was born on March 10, 1953 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Maria and Jesus Olivares. Ricardo attended Harrison High School and later served in the Marines at Camp Pendleton. He was a career USPS employee and union representative. Ricardo was a devoted husband and son, long-time member of South SDA Church of Colorado Springs and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital donor. He was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and chess, watching movies, and traveling.
Ricardo is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Mary Lou; his parents; his son, Ricci; and his brothers, Armando, Mario, and Dario.
He is survived by his son, Mario; his adopted daughter, Pam; his grandson, Joseph; five sisters and two brothers; and many other family members and close friends who will miss him greatly.
A visitation, at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910 will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 1:00PM, and will be followed by a 2:00PM Funeral Service. Ricardo's final resting place will be at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
Memorials in Ricardo's name may be made to Colorado Springs South SDA Church (coloradospringssouthco.adventistchurch.org), and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
