On Monday March 7, 2022, Richard C. Anderson Jr., loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 74. He was born January 8, 1948, in Seattle, Washington to Richard and June (Shogren) Anderson.
He graduated from Michigan State University in 1969 and went on to earn his MBA from Wayne State University in 1972. Richard married the love of his life Mary Jones on March 16th, 1968, in Royal Oak, Michigan. Together, they had two daughters: Tracy and Wendy. He held multiple corporate executive positions throughout his career in Michigan, Ohio, and Minnesota. After retiring, he spent time teaching business to high school and college students.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary, Colorado Springs, CO; daughter Wendy (Kirby) Heck, Colorado Springs, CO; granddaughter Skylar; and sister Kathy (Bill) Freese, Fairfax, VA. He was preceded in death by his daughter Tracy, parents, and sister Patricia Follo. Richard was a devoted husband and father.
He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Private family services will be held.

I was also privileged to know Dick through our work together at Colorado Early College High School. He helped and inspired so many students over the years. Students who advanced to taking off campus college courses, would return to our campus just to take a class from him. He was so generous with his time, supported new learning opportunities for young entrepreneurs and was always unfailingly kind to everyone. He will be dearly missed.

Hi! Dick and I shared a classroom years ago at Colorado Early Colleges and got to be friends during 5-minute passing periods. Even after we weren't in the same classroom, we still saw each other in the hallways. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
