Richard Benson Obituary
Richard was born in Minneapolis in 1934, and a resident of Colorado Springs for over 50 years. He was born to Lawernce and Ella Benson of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the business owner of McMillian Claim Service here in Colorado Springs and served in the US Air Force during the 1950's.
Richard married Kathleen Hoy in 1957 in Minneapolis and raised 5 children here in the Springs. Richard was an avid fisherman, loved working outdoors, particularly on his Koi fish pond, and traveled extensively with his family camping throughout the West.
Richard is survived by his loving wife Kathleen and his 5 children, Julie Nelson (Brett), Tim Benson (Heidi), Mark Benson (Anna), MaryJo Parelius and Kelly Denlinger (George). Richard is also survived by his 11 grandchildren; Alicia, Matthew, Nicholas, Austin, Christian, Sam, Elijah, Charlie, Mahriana, Kate and Jia and also by 5 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 12-1 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church on Saturday, February 15, followed a mass at 1:00 pm. Reception services will follow.

we will miss his frequent visits with ICBY in hand for the kids and a set of mugs for the grownups. He would spend many an hour in our kitchen and was funny and delightful company.Mark will probably remember us the best since he and Dick often went to dinner with us at Yakitori on Academy .Yes, we will surely miss him.
