Richard (Dick) Cranford, 84, of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully at home June 1st, 2024, after a long, hard fought, courageous battle from a long-term illness.
Dick Cranford was born September 30th, 1939, in Pueblo, Colorado to Wesley and Juanita Cranford. He was the second of three children. Dick enjoyed playing high school football, making All Conference Team. He graduated from Centennial High School, in Pueblo, in 1958. Dick was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated top 10 of his class.
After graduating high school, Dick attended several trade schools, which started a career with Hobart Corporation. He worked his way from service technician to eventually owner and manager of Hobart Sales and Service. Dick met Joanne Kadunc of Pueblo, Colorado. The two were blessed with 64 years of marriage. Together they welcomed three children - Richard, Gary and Susie. In 1966, the family moved to Colorado Springs.
Dick was a loving husband and father. Family and friends were always extremely important to him. Dick lived a full and eventful life. Before his illness, Dick was a dedicated and active Mason. His accomplishments and contributions were many. A partial list includes:
Past Master of Lodge #13, the Scottish Rite- achieving 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason, the York Rite, Al Kaly
Shriners Hospital.
Outside organizations include, V.Z. Reed Hose, B.P.O.E Elks.
Dick was an avid golfer, loved photography, boating and genealogy.
Dick leaves behind his devoted wife Joanne, son Gary Cranford of Henderson, Nevada, grandchildren Chancelor and Savannah Cranford. Daughter- in- law, Edith Cranford, granddaughters Camille and Emma Cranford of Naples, Florida. Dick was proceeded in death by daughter Susie, and son Richard Cranford. Also, very special to Dick were sister-in-law Ann Marie Manguso, nieces Janice Eaks, and Roseann Korman, late sister-in-law Cherie Casper, late in-laws- John and Ann Kadunc, family friend Paula Sholdt. Dick had many more nieces and nephews, cousins, all who were very special to Dick.
Dick's legacy will live on in the kindness he showed, the comfort he shared, and the love he brought into our lives.

Services will be held at the Masonic Temple, Sunday, July 21st, 2024, at 1:00 pm

Burial will be held Monday, July 22nd at 11:00 am at Evergreen Cemetary
