Richard Reed Crowther, 91, passed from his earthly home in Colorado Springs to his eternal home in Heaven on March 14, 2018.
Richard was born on July 13, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to George S. and Edna Irene Crowther. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings; a baby boy; his sister, Lorraine Bruce; two daughters-in-law, Molly Cranwell and Mary Ann Walker; and his beloved wife, Ruth.
Richard served in the United States Navy for a total of six and a half years. After his final military discharge, he was employed by Alexander Film Company for 35 years and The Broadmoor for over 50 years. He enjoyed square dancing, bowling, photography, wood working, leather tooling, traveling and loving on his grands.
Richard is survived by three sons: Bill Cranwell, Robert Cranwell (Debra), Steven Crowther; one daughter, Catherine Eaton (Robert); nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Private inurnment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity or ministry of the donor's choice.
