Richard Divelbiss Obituary

Richard (Dick) Divelbiss was born September 25, 1928, in Pueblo, Colorado, and died November 18, 2012, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dick was a 1948 graduate of Central High School in Pueblo where he played football. He also attended what is now known as University of Southern Colorado. Dick owned and operated the City Park Guernsey Dairy of Pueblo for 22 years before being purchased by Sinton Dairy in 1970. He was the Sinton's sales manager for southern Colorado before moving to Colorado Springs in 1986 to take over the credit department. In Pueblo, Dick was a member of Rotary 43, B.P.O.E. number 90, and the Pueblo Country Club. He also served two terms as a Commissioner of the Colorado Division of Wildlife from 1979 to 1987. In Colorado Springs, he is a member of the Chapel of Our Savior Episcopal Church and past member of the El Paso Club. He married Margaret (Maggie) McGowen in 1954 and they had five children. Rick (Pat) of Pueblo, Rod (Jan) of Oakland, California, Michael (Susanne) of Pueblo, Cindy (Jack) Uldrich of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Mark, of Oakland, California. He is also blessed with nine grandchildren (Tim, Jeff, Michelle, Scott, Thomas, Samantha, Alexis, Meghan, and Sean) and three great-grandchildren (Delayne, Andrew, and Kaitlyn). In 1985, Dick married Mildred (Middy) Allison Haver and gained two step-children, Francie and Tom (Sue) Haver, and two step-grandchildren (Steven and Stephanie). Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Florine, and brothers Bob and Ralph. He is survived by his brother Herb in California and sister Dorothy (Vern) Holmes of Franktown, Colorado. Services for Dick will be on Saturday, November 24, 2012, 4:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Our Savior Episcopal Church located at 8 Fourth Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80906-3155.
