Dear Grampie,
Because Lincoln just turned 3 years old and is not yet able to type I wanted to put something in here for him. You were his greatest hero and always will be! The other day I was sitting down crying and Lincoln came over to me put his hand on my leg and said "oh no mommy, why are you crying?" I said "I just want Grampie back" Linc then said "It's ok mommy, Grampie turned into an eagle and flew away". Last night I was crying again...Linc put his hand on me and said "its ok mommy I am here". He is all boy...so tough but yet so sweet and gentle. Yes he is only 3 years old but in his 3 years of life you were there leaving your great mark. He is so lucky to have had you as long as he did. I am so happy for that and thank you for everything. We Love You! Lincoln Cade Wingfield & Heather Duffy Wingfield

Grampie,
I wish so badly that I could bring you back. I will miss everything about you...you were so strong but yet sweet and gentle. You had the strongest hands, most beautiful smile and eyes. There was something so special and unique that came with your presence. It always made me feel so safe. You worked so hard in life and for this family and still you never complained. I know you cared so deeply for us all. You always worried about everyone else. When my pipes busted I talked to you on the phone, you wanted to come over and take care of it even though you were in so much pain. I had to talk you out of it. The last day I talked to you in the hospital you were worried about us getting Joshs truck started. I know if you weren't in the hospital you would have came over and had it running in no time! That day you were also asking about our house...if we were having any luck with selling. You were encouraging about it. Never negative. Thank you for being the rock in our family. I will cherish every memory, bench, shelf, workbench, every piece of furniture you built until we meet again. I love you Grampie. Rest in peace.

Hey Pa. I remember so many good times. You were always there to step up and do what needed to be done. Our time together was way too short. I learned so many lessons from you. You were always my go-to guy. You listened to my questions, helped me work through problems, and sometimes let me learn them my own way, because I could be stubborn. You have taught me to be a man...I only hope I can be the man you were. You are and will always be my role model. Your humility, grace, love and strength will be my guiding light. You always appreciated the things people did for you, but I don't think you ever realized how much we all appreciated the little things you did for us.
Everywhere I look, I see you, your work, your love and all you taught us. I see you out of the corner of my eye. I will protect Mum and the rest of our family, in your stead. Until we meet again, God, please protect him. I am sad that you are not here, but your pain is gone, and you can rest. I Love You Pa!!!

Dad,

What can I say, your character and integrity in everything you did was a shining example of how we should all live. Living by example every day, working hard to provide for your family without any complaints. I could always count on you to be there, to talk with, to give advice on how you would handle something. "How would Dad do it" became a commn theme as I would encounter obstacles, whether it was at work, or around the house or even bringing up the children. Ian, Jennifer and Kelsey loved you and your great smile and warm greetings. It was very heartwarming to visit with your friends and collegues at Walmart where your friendly demeanor, integrity and work ethic set a perfect example.

We will miss you greatly and will honor your example by trying to live up to the standard you set.

Love ya pops,

Dean and Sue

The BDN family is sorry to hear about the loss of our long time colleague and retiree, Dick Erickson. Dick was a valued member of the circulation department for almost 40 years where he spent his career managing the distribution of our daily and weekly newspapers throughout the Northern Maine region, including Loring Air Force Base during it's prime.

For many years, Dick worked for Pat Barnard, Retired Circulation Manager, who remembered Dick as a dedicated employee who knew the job well and worked his way up to becoming our Aroostook County Supervisor. "He was an excellent newspaper man who helped increase circulation and maintain the BDN's position as the largest newspaper north of Boston."

Dick will be fondly remembered not only by his coworkers, but also by the many newspaper carriers, business owners, and customers who were fortunate enough to work with Dick over the years.

We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Janet and their family.

Grampie,
You were the kind of man who didn't care who saw you when we were putting Barbie puzzles together. Afterwards, we would always laugh at how ridiculous and funny The Barbie looked. You were the man who always had a smile and a hand for me to hold when I needed it. I always loved watching those western movies with you as you and me sat together in your famous, blue recliner. Whenever you came up to Montana we would make monkeybread. I remember you would always try to snatch a piece trying not tp be noticed; you were rarely successful. Each time you came up to Montana I would always see you with your smiling face and bright, blue eyes cheering me on to get that home-run in T-ball. I will never forget the fun times on the tree house you built for us and the trampoline (which we got from Walmarts) that you put together. You were a sweet and more than gentle man to all, I will miss you. I will always love you.
Love,
Hannah

Grampie,
You are my hero.
Never once did I hear you raise your voice. You were a quiet man, but your actions spoke louder than anyone's words ever could. You never hesitated to help someone else. Everytime I looked around the house my parent's built together, I saw things assembled by you. I saw my toy box, my swing set, my doll house and the list goes on and on. Not only did you assemble the bikes at "Walmarts", you assembled our family. You did so much for us and never asked for anything in return. Our science fair is coming up at school, my chemistry teacher, told us to go to "Walmarts" with an S at the end- it was the best place. I know you loved working there, I know you loved. You loved everybody no matter what. You always did the right thing. You always said the right things without saying much. I have so many unforgettable memories with you. I will miss your blue eyes, your smile, your left pointer finger and your strong reassuring presence. I will miss everything about you. I love you Grampie.
You are my hero.
With all the love in the world,
Haley

Dad,so much to say, but no words will ever describe you as a man. You worked so hard, was so humble and gentle. I remember the early mornings delivering the paper and the help you always provided. You helped Dean and I win a newspaper contest to go to Boston and watch the Red Sox play. My last trip with you was in Denver last summer,to watch the Sox. You were walking slow but you still made the trip. I could never beat you in Cribbage but when I spoke to you last, I promised to beat you. You sounded calm and not impressed. I showed up late but you were still waiting for me. I was tired from the drive that started at three thirty in the morning, the same time we used to get up to deliver the bundles. I could only play one hand with you. I dealt first. Haley and Hannah helped me with the cards. You did beat me 10 to 7. You did not gloat. Even in your last day you were a humble and gentle man who I wish to be like. Our Cribbage game is not over. One day I will join you and we will finish the game. I am proud of you and your fight. I love you and I miss you.
Your loving son,
Scott

Hey Pa...the picture says it all. I remember well that day, as you rode the tractor and helped get things squared away at Stasia's. You were always there to step up and do what needed to be done. Our time together was way to short. You always appreciated the things people did for you, but I don't think you ever realized how much we all appreciated the little and big things you did for us. Until we meet again, God, please protect him. I am sad that you are not here, but your pain is gone, and you can rest. I Love You Pa!!!

Thank you Pa, for all you taught me in life. Our time was way too short. You were my go-to guy. You always were there and answered my questions and let me share ideas with you. You have prepared me to be a man, I just hope I am able to live up to your integrity, patience, strength and grace. You were and will always be my role model. As sad as I am, I am glad you don't hurt anymore. You gave it all, all the way to the end, never selfish, always strong, and always appreciating the small things in life. Until we meet again, Pa, God will keep you safe. I Love You Pa!!!
