Richard Lawrence Fernandez, 55, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away unexpectedly in his home on April 27, 2022.
He was born February 18, 1967 to Manuel Fernandez, Jr. and Sheila Lou Smith in Byron, California.
Rich went to high school at Rampart High School and graduated in 1985. He did some college at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Rich worked as a manager for Water Works Car Wash for over thirty years, where his hard work ethic was passed on to many. His biggest accomplishments were being the best father to his three daughters, Catrina, Carmalita, and Cassandra, and a grandfather to Brandon, Austin, Lawrence and Devin.
He enjoyed spending time with his friends at his favorite watering hole or sporting events. You would always catch him every year in the mountains of Breckenridge, Colorado, which was his favorite getaway. He was admired for his ability to bring laughter to those around him no matter the situation. He was dependable, a hard worker and under his "grizzly bear" demeanor was his "papa bear" heart.
Richard is reunited with his father, Manny; mother, Sheila; sisters, Monica and Janette; and grandson, Austin.
Richard is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters, Catrina, Carmalita, and Cassandra; sister, Patti; brothers, David and Daniel; grandsons, Brandon, Lawrence and Devin; and many adored nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to everyone who has given their condolences, love, and compassion during this difficult time.
