I learned about "Bowski"s passing only the other day in the Culver Magazine. I was in Battery B and clearly remember sitting in a dorm room with him on one bed talking about the future - and his comment ongoing into the Army - which surprised all of us!
I think he did shot-put on the track team. Big guy - lovable bear of a guy. He will be misssed

I first met "Rick" when he was an apprentice electrician. We spent many enjoyable hours working together at the Pikes Peak Center. He took his first sky diving leap one weekend and I asked him how it went? Out came that award winning smile of his and then he said "I don't know, I kept my eyes closed the whole way". This was followed by his booming laugh. I doubt the Pikes Peak Center has every been filled since then with such laughter! He would on occasion stop by my house having just stopped at Ze Zu's magic shop to try out his new tricks on my kids before he went on home to entertain his. Everyone's comments here are all so descriptive of our friend "Rick" He was indeed a bright shining Light.

Bill (Richard) touched so many lives. I, myself, have great memories of our grade school days, hanging out with the gang in the neighborhood park, and our last 'reunion' with a handful of that gang in Ft. Wayne in the spring of 2009. Some of the things I am going to miss about Bill's absence are: his smile, his laughter, his honesty, his directness, his kindness, his generosity, his outlook and disposition, but most of all, his life-long friendship. He was a soldier, a leader, a teacher, and a listener who could be commanding or sensitive to the situation. My heart is broken and he will be dearly missed. However, it gives me peace knowing he's with God and we will see him again. My prayers and condolences go out to Bill's family and friends. May God comfort you and give you strength. To all who knew Bill, a final "God Bless" - (I'll truly miss hearing those words issued at the end of his phone message).

Richard, or Bill as I knew him, and I were good friends back in grade school. On December 24, 1963, Bill and I climbed the stairs to the roof of the Wolf and Dessauer department store in Fort Wayne. We wrote our names and the date on the back of the door. He was a great friend with a great joy for life. Sad to hear he is gone, but looking forward to meeting him again in our Father's House.

I met Richard in the last few weeks of his life. He shared several very meaningful hours with me, and his love of the Lord overflowed the confines of his big heart. What a treat to know him for just those few hours. I am really saddened by his passing, as I wanted to spend so much more time with him.

Richard was my neighbor on Cheyenne Blvd. What an extremely Happy Person. Richard, you will be missed. You were way too young to leave us but God must have been in need for a smiling electrician, god bless Richard.

The picture of Richard tells a lot about him as he was a man who always saw the bright side of things. His bright smile and the way he carried for others was always his hallmark.
I was lucky to have him as my assistant Scout Master in Troop 1. Richard was a man who lived the Scout Oath, "On my honor I will do my best..." and Scout Law every day of his life. His life was a perfect example of how a man can live with respect for others. The young men of Troop 1 were fortunate to have him as an example.
Richard, the trail has come to an end and now you can relax in the camp with our father in heaven.
God bless and sleep in peace.

We will miss our long time friend, Richard. He always brought a laugh, a bright perspective, and an ability to handle with great proficiency some tough electrical problems for us. There was always a welcome, "Well, Howdy!" and a kind farewell of "God bless." In our farewell, we also say "God bless."

A soft spoken gentleman, a conscientious father and a really fine electrician. Richard appeared to me to "walk the walk." We chatted many times when he was over to my house mending my shorts (pun intended). I'm very sorry for your loss. God bless him.

I met Richard in 1975 when we were working at Ft. Carson. He was a brick layer and I was an electrician. I persuaded him to become an electrician and he became one of the best. He always was quick to laugh and had a smile that made people around him happy. I honor and respect him for his choice. May he rest in peace. Sam Masias

Richard was a good man and an American patriot. I will miss our "chats over the fence". I am proud to have known him and am crushed by his passing. He was quick with a smile and always so polite and respectful to my wife and daughter. We send our deepest condolences to John and Andrew as they face the tasks ahead. We wish you peace and strength.
