after visiting richard at his home in colorado, i was driving eastward toward my home and watched a lone coyote running, no more like gliding, across a field. it ran so smoothly, so rhythmically and then bounded over a barbed wire fence. it went along so very smoothly. and so i imagine richard, now out of his wheelchair, now set free. he deserves such.

richard was such a good friend. we met online while working at dec as he was the moderator of an online meeting called christian perspectives. in general people from dec would open up a discussion on various subjects relating to christianity. specifically, i entered my very long statement on ministry that was the written basis for delivery during my examination for fitness to ministry leading to my ordination. folks from all over the dec-world made comments, asked questions, and evaluated my responses ... this all moderated by richard. after ordination, my wife and i were able to drive to richard and sharon's home in colorado for a few days staying with them. this was a precious time. he was a precious person.

I just discovered Dick's passing, apparently GOD needed to call him home. A finer individual was never born. A flood of memories came back to me, as I went to schools with him, from when he was still able to walk until we graduated from North high. One memory of early Richard was he loved Music, and drawing, his favorite character Superman. He became Superman, fighting for truth, justice and the American way! His strong religious beliefs made him a man above men! Rest in peace my Super friend! and thank you LORD, for sharing him ! Please watch over his family and bless.

Sharon and family, I am so sorry; I didn't know Richard had died. Like others here, I knew him, albeit electronically only, from DEC. I am a Quaker, and I enjoyed our on-line communications very much. Peace to you.

Sharon and kids -
I just learned of Richard's death. I am saddened, as I knew him well when we worked together on Digital domestic benefits back in the 80's and 90's. I know he could be hard to live with, and I hope that in these later years that things went smoothly.
He was a tireless advocate for justice, as you know. I was so happy to have him by my side and I was pleased to call him my friend. He could be so much fun. We shared many, MANY laughs. I am so happy that I was blessed by his presence in my life.

I got to know Richard when I worked for DEC in Colorado Springs in the late 1980s. Richard was an amazing man of incredible courage and strength, whose physical limitations were no match for the force of his personality. I recall his booming voice and his passion for justice. I will also always remember his sense of humor, his strong convictions, his rabble rousing, and the inner goodness that defined his life.
The world will miss you, Richard Jones-Christie.

I shall remember working at Digital Equipment Corp (DEC, now HP) in support services at CXO3. Thank you Richard for sharing part of your time with me; at DEC and Calvary United Methodist Church.
When you're with Saint Peter, please pray for us. We shall miss you.
