Rick,
I want to let you know you are still in my thoughts. When MJ died recently, you really came up strong in my memories. I will never forget the time we were having a party at mom and dads house and you were dancing like MJ and my little brothers at the time were trying to imitate you. Till this day I don't think they ever got it down. I see you in my dreams from time to time and you are still telling those corny jokes. You are very happy in all my dreams and that is how I know you are still with us , just in another universe for now. Monica and Cynthia are doin good and are very loved by all the family. Love you always and forever. Your sister-n-law, Miche'

Kel....we still need you here. But we know that the Lord needs you more. It would've been easier had you been an average guy, but you weren't. You were so magnetic, charismatic, and larger than life. You really left a piece of yourself with everyone. I still feel your presence through memories, songs on the radio, expressions/little sayings that we all got from you that we still repeat without thinking about it. I take solace in knowing that one day we'll see you again. Until then, I'll continue to miss my buddy and hold those memories close to my heart.

I think about you everyday, and I see you in Monica, which is comforting to know you live on in her. Your little girl, is not so little anymore, she is growing up a young lady, who will one day be the "Woman of God" our Lord wants her to be. You and Cynthia instilled in her, good morals and values, that she will carry on to her own children. Still can't believe your gone, I love to see all the videos you are in, I don't want to forget all the laughs you gave to us while you were with us. Last night, we gathered together in your honor, so that, we may always remember you and never forget......Raymo put together a slide show for us, which was very emotional, funny and inspirational,he did a great job!

It's starts tonight Kel, the game you love so much. In about two hours the NFL season will be in full swing. We had all our drafts and got all our squads lined up. I'm not gonna lie, it has already been so different without you. I miss being able to call you at the drop of a hat, you always knew what I was talking about even if nobody else did. We have dedicated two leagues to you man. Who would have ever thought that even though you never won a trophy that you would have two named after you. I love you man, and even though I am crying as I write this, it brings me joy to picture how much happiness this game bought to your life. We are still carrying you with us, and we all miss you so very much. Every Sunday when that first ball is kicked off, you will be here with me Kel. I love you.

My buddy Kel-
Why did you leave me so soon. Took me long enough to write something to you. Where do I start..everywhere, so big you and I were, every laugh we had stuck, It became part of our fabric, so many things we all repeat over and over every day, came from you and I together. I'm giving you all the credit: "what yall use down here in Texas form drinkin Whiskey?....drinkin whiskey!", Whatta you mean you aint got any more Meringue?", "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss", "You dont know me, and you dont want to know me, are you diggin this?", " Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Tonto Goldstein, but my friends call me Bubba".
Makes me sad I cant call you up, and give you the "business". You deserve it now more than ever. Glen and I been talking a lot since you left, trying to sort it all out, but at the end of the day we dont have many answers. We were pretty upset with you for leaving, but we're doing our best to accept it. When you and I were together I knew who I had with me, I was talking to me, same wave length, same planet, same everything. One in the same. You didnt light up the room, you were the room. If you knew the outpouring you've received from far and wide, you'd be proud. So many memories that will never go away, I'm gonna miss you brother, love you big time.

Rick,
Well it has been 18 days since you went to be with the Lord, and I miss you very much.. Cynthia and Monica are missing you and are doing their very best to be strong and taking life one day at a time, as changes are happening around them and around us. They have so many people who care and love them, I know they are going to be just fine. I am so proud of Cynthia being so responsible in this very difficult time, and Monica, our little Monica, wait!, she is not little anymore, this next May 11, she will be a teenager. Believe me, we will be watching, listening, disciplining, helping and guiding her, the very best we know how, to help her be the "Woman of God", he wants her to be. God has big plans for her, to have the parents she has, she will touch many lives, just like you did, Rick!! We will always remember you and never forget you, for you were such an impact in all our lives. If only, I could talk to you one more time, I would feel much better, but, I know I will one day, I have to be patient. There is much to do, and many people to help. I want to do my very best in being the "Good Samaritan" you were,to those who were hurting or in need. We can make the difference, we can be that kind, compassionate, caring, tolerant and loving person, that so many people need, not expecting anything in return. You did a wonderful job with Monica, doing all you did for her, being her daddy, who was there for her, for the 12 yrs. she had you. You were at every game and every practice she ever had, since she was 4 yrs.old. It will be hard knowing your not going to take or pick her up from school anymore, but, by God's mercy and grace, I believe, she will get thru this time, especially having her friends and family holding her up and praying for her. I am so glad I hugged you the last day we were together, because I never knew, there would be no more to share. I want to be the light of the world, and let people know their is hope, joy and peace,"IN JESUS NAME!!" "Come See Us!!"
Love you,
Your Sister-In-Law

We were so fortunate to have Rick as a part of our family, Rick lived his life to it's fullest, he loved his family, and He especially loved his mom and dad with all his heart, I knew that by just listening to the way he talked about them. During the time that we knew Rick we did not get to spend a whole lot of time with him, because of us living out of town, but he leaves us with some really great memories of the times we did get to spend with him, He made us laugh til we cried. My kids loved him and even though he was their cousin through marriage they called him uncle Rick, he also sung the apple, peas song all the time to them. I think Rick could not even imagine how many people he touched in his short life, I know when he saw all the people who came to his Rosary and Memorial he could not believe his eyes.....I know he is up there looking down on us and he's up there with Momo Chair and finally got to meet my Dad and making him laugh, he's probably telling him "grandpa, you should see those two cavronas leti and cynthia when they get together". He is also with my grandpa Arredondo asking him "What kind of whisky you'll drink here in Heaven? "Drinking Whisky?" . I know he is up there singing and showing them angels how to dance. And as each new angel comes through the gates of Heaven he is asking them "First time Here?" "Yeah, thought so." Rick we will Miss You.

To the Kelley family:
I know words won't take away the pain and loss, but Rick's memory is still very much with all of us. I'ts hard to describe just how special he was. Rick was the guy we all loved and wanted to be around. A tremendous athlete, a super friend to all and a genuine person to everybody he met, Rick was the reason so many of us would enjoy our times together. I truly loved him, as did so many others, and his memory will be in my heart forever.

Dearest Mom and Dad Kelley and Family,
Rick is not gone at all. God simply chose that fabulous, unconditional loving son/brother of yours and transition him from the physical to the spiritual. I love Rick as my big brother, because I was so fortunate to have him look over me, as Rick had my older brother John look over him.
Rick had no lack for quitting or giving up on anything or anyone. Therefore, rest assured Rick is watching over each of us right now. Rarely, do you get blessed to meet a person who can change a situation just by his presence and then by his words. When you saw Rick you knew, your life would change instantly. He had the great looks of Mom Kelley, and lets not forget the great looks of his "Kenny Rogers look a like" Dad Kelley. Rick was always positive, laughing, happy, kept you rolling, sincere, strong, and most of all an inspiration to look up to. Rick did what he said he would do, a rare quality people possess. Most of all Rick could Dance, Dance, Dance like a "Dancing Machine" or "Shake Your Body Down To The Ground" the Jacksons singing group taught us. Like Basketball, Rick both danced on the court and off the court performing on the dancing floor.
Please realize Rick has just left us physically, just take a moment close your eyes, and you will find Rick there. Still dancing, and playing basketball spiritually. Go inside while your eyes are closed and remember that golden smile and the patented golden "Chucks", "Cons", "Chuck Taylors" --- Converse High Top Tennis Shoes Rick wore that gave him the renowned attention in the Gazzette Newspaper for weeks. Did you know while Rick played Basketball the Denver Broncos had a kicker named Jim Turner, who wore black high top kicking shoes. Jim Turner was the field goal kicker in the NFL that wore the ugliest shoes. Low and behold Rick was compared to Jim Turner as the Basketball player for the Air Academy Kadets that wore the ugliest tennis shoes in the league with his golden, bright yellow Converse High Tops. Yep, that is the Rick to remember always setting the standard. By the way Rick led all scorers in the Basketbal Varsity League also...
Rick again has not left us, so when sadness comes upon you simply close your eyes and remember the following qualities that Rick left you and me with:
Laughter, Enthusiastic Attitude, Positive Insight, Desire to Become a Fellow Winner, Wisdom, Sincerity, and most of all Unconditional Love to Pass On. Do not let Rick's Physical Departure leave you sad or empty, believe me Rick would not tolerate that kind of attitude!!! Instead Live life Filled with those same qualities Rick showed and gave for you to live by, because I can assure you Rick is watching over his Team. Rick is Our Spiritual Captain, just like he was the Captain for the Air Academy Kadet Basketball Team always showing you how to be a winner and yes, raising the ruler to greatness. He was so special God took him early to watch over us all at the same time, now that he is in the Spiritual Body of God's Holy Presence. Just close your eyes and you will always see that Golden Shoes, Dancing, Laughable, Sincere, Uncondional Loving Brother of mine Rick Kelley. Love You All!!!

Peggy, David, Rob, Kim, and Cynthia and Monica,
It wasn't until I talked to Peggy that I was forced to accept that Rick is no longer with us physically anymore. I feel very fortunate that when I think of Rick, my heart is filled with memories of all the great times we had together a long time ago. So many movies, Saturday and Sunday basketball pickup games at the Prep School, getting into the Odyssey to dance (and making sure we memorized the DOB of the ID card we borrowed :)), watching TV and getting something to eat at "Mom" and "Dad" Kelley's house, and running around C Springs in my VW bus. Although I regret that our lives took different roads and we lost touch with each other, it was a joy to see, after reading Rick's guest book, that my best friend and brother during high school grew up to become a loving husband, a fantastic Dad, and a positive spirit that touched so many lives for the better. I am very blessed that Rick Kelley touched my life and I will never forget him. You are all in our prayers and may all the good times and fond memories of Rick help comfort you as well. God bless you all!

My heartfelt sympathy on the sudden loss of Rick.
He will be missed by so many. My condolences to each of you.
You never know when it will be the last time you speak with someone. There are so many things you wished you had said. And it is worse when it's a life long friend. I haven't seen Rick since our high school reunion, but have corresponded with him almost every week via email or phone. The phone calls would end with both of us laughing so much we had to get off.
Rick had the best smile, cracked everyone up, and spoke well of life. In High School, Rick was the person everyone wanted to be with. On the basketball court he was dynamite with his golden converse high tops and winning attitude. He could dance like nobody. The parties began when Rick showed up and ended when he left. In a word: A Rock Star (okay 3 words). We'll never forget you Frickmo'. You were the Best and we'll love you forever.

Dear Monica,
I feel sad about your father. He was a very great man. He treated everyone he knew just like family and that is one of the very wonderful traits your father had.
To me your father is a man that I wish every man was like because he loved everyone no matter what there history, he had love and compassion, those are two of the many traits that your father had but yet they are the best traits. Now he is in the tremendous hands of God and he will always be with you and your mother. But one thing I will never forget about your father is his sense of humor and his wonderful laugh.I hope that you start to feel better soon and may the Lord be with you and your mother.

Peg, David, Rob, Kim and the Kelley family;
So shocked and still in disbelief at Ricky's passing.
My heart goes out to Rick's family, I know he will be missed, and we are so sorry for your loss. In my thoughts, Ricky and Rob and I are still kids playing in the creek at Uncle Bobby's and Aunt Ploo's in Ravenswood, WV. I know he grew into a fine man with a great family, but he'll always be Ricky to me.

Cynthia/Monica,
Words cannot express our sincerest sympathies and feelings of loss. Kel was always someone we looked forward to being around and who could brighten the whole room. His wit, manner and style was immeasurable. He was a great friend, the best. Rick, you made our lives so much richer and we will never forget you. We miss you Kel.

Everyone that met Rick never forgot him. Rick was an amazingly good hearted person. He impacted many people’s lives. His unselfish desire to help people will always be remembered. His memory will always live through the people he loved and the many people that loved him. He made our entire family better, he would periodically checked up on everyone. I’m certain he will continue to check up on everyone from high above. There will now be another meaning to the phrase “the big man upstairs is watching.” We will always think of you Rick! Cynthia and Monica, we are here providing you our love and support. Mr. & Mrs. Kelley, we loved your son very much.

My Ecstatic Uncle Kel,
Dude its still hitting me that your not there to make everyone feel good and the most random time possible, that i cant play basketball and get beat anymore, the corny jokes aren't going to be funny from anyone else. I have always loved you with the most unrealistic love, and you will never be forgotten, especially with the tattoo im getting next week with your fave screaming "Henway", yes i really am getting that. Monica and Cynthia are in great hands and i know your not gone from our family. This has effected everyone and you should see the way the family is coming together, i know thats what you would have wanted. I love you so much man and i can't wait to see you soon. *walking away* singing, " I love My uncle Kel" :)
Goodbye Uncle Kel, I love you.

Have fun partying with the angels and our Lord. May Jesus take you in His arms and bless you the rest of your everlasting life.Monica and Cynthia are in good hands.

Cynthia and Monica,
We are so sad about the loss of such a wonderful man in our lives. There is no doubt, he was special to us all. He was so genuine and happy. He could make me feel happier just being around him. Tom enjoyed his stories, and regrets they never did get to coach basketball together. Janna remembers he always had a smile on his face! Joe remembers he always gave him a "high five". Emily considered him her second dad from SPS. She loved him. She talks about daning with him at the father/daughter dance and how he was the most fun dad to dance with! She remembers fun car rides with him and Monica, singing and dancing in the car! Beverly says she "had him wrapped around her finger" and she did! With the cokes and candy he would buy for her at all the sporting events, pressing the buzzer extra times just to make her laugh and no one could get her started doing the wave like Rick! Remember we are here for you anytime. We are praying for you and your entire family.
Love, The McDonalds

David, Peggy, Cynthia, Monica, Rob, and Kim: You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. Rick will be missed. I have such wonderful memories of the times he and Rob spent during the summers with us. I can still hear him saying "You make the bestest pizza Aunt Jane" or "Do it again Uncle Glenn, scare us again." May your hearts be filled with the wonderful memories and joyous times that were spent with Rick. Take comfort in knowing that he will be your special guardian angel to watch over and guide you.

Cynthia/Monica and family.... Rick was guy next door. The type of guy that you knew was always there. He will still be there, even if just in spirit. He affected our lives in every way... his smile, his personality and most of all his heart. He was a true friend and we feel like we have lost a brother and father(meagan). We love you all very much.

Kool-Aid Kel, you will never leave my heart and I miss you so much. We had so many wonderful memories with you - like our Grizwald trip to Cancun, fantasy football sundays, and just chilling at the pool at the "Kelley Resort". I just still can't put all of this into words, but I feel your spirit with us... and you know that Raymo and I will always be there for Cynthia (Gina) Marie and Baby Moncar and we will try our best to keep up your traditions -- like "what does a pie cost?" LOL.
All my love,
