Richard Marshall Obituary

On November 2, 2015, Richard "Dick" passed away peacefully at his home. He was 86 years old.

Dick Marshall was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 14, 1929 to Lillian and George Marshall. He was the oldest of 5 children.

On April 17, 1949 he married his high school sweetheart Sara "Sally" (Reep) Marshall, and they shared 66-1/2 years of happiness holding hands through all of them. They had 4 children, Linda Smith (Terry) of San Saba, TX; Rick Marshall (Kathy) of Grants Pass, OR; Patty Floyd (Ken) of Hobbs, NM; and Barb Parrott (Bob) of Colorado Springs, CO.

Family was his number one priority throughout his entire life. He cherished his children and grandchildren and was always interested in the smallest details of their lives. He was so proud of their accomplishments and was the first to tell them so.

Dick worked for Therm-o-Disc Tool and Die Company in Mansfield, Ohio. At the same time he was a housing contractor and built the family home before moving his family to Colorado Springs in 1966 to begin work for Hewlett Packard as a tool and die maker eventually advancing to be a mechanical engineer until he retired.

He and Sally owned and operated Pikes Peak Ceramics for several years and later they opened Tomorrow's Keepsake, a gift shop, in old Colorado City where he was able to utilize his woodworking skills making furniture and other one of a kind items.

Dick's hobbies included traveling, photography, bowling, and playing golf. He had a very special love for his many dogs through the years.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilyn, brother James, and granddaughter Carrie Smith.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife Sally, their 4 children, 14 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Eileen Houseberg of Sarasota, FL, and Carol Sgambellone of Mansfield, OH.
