Richard Perlin Obituary

Rick was a Vietnam vet and served his country with honor. He was a guy with a great sense of humor, quick wit, charming demeanor and friendly personality.

He had a generous nature and was always willing to lend a hand to neighbors and friends...he was an amazing man, we are so blessed that your grandchildren grew up knowing Papa, all the high fours and the mustache kisses.

Driving down the windy mountain roads, it seemed that everyone we would pass, the approaching car would honk and wave and he would return in kind. He was one of those guys that everyone seemed to love and he was certainly easy to love.

He had a generous nature and was always willing to lend a hand to neighbors and friends...he was an amazing man.

He loved the outdoors and taking his family on camping adventures, he loved cars and working on them, he loved his motorcycles and working on them, he loved his construction business, but mostly, he loved his family.

Rick is survived by his beloved family, wife, Joanie; children, Chadrick "Chad" Jeremy Perlin, Kimberly Jeanne Perlin, Jennifer Suzanne (Robert) Perlin-Szymanek, Gary Eugene (Wendy) Perlin, Briana Kathleen (Brandon) White, Scott William Vela, Joey Taylor Perlin, his siblings; Donna Skibinskoi, Sally Hollis & Monte Perlin and his beautiful grandchildren, Anna, Sara, Julia, Tyler, Chase, Kaleb, Alyssa, Kaylina, Anjaleena, Jayden & Jenna-Lynn and his faithful dog, Brandy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jenna Monique Vela and brother; Joseph Perlin.

Visitation, 1:30PM-2:30PM, Rocky Mountain Calvary Church, 4285 N. Academy Blvd. with a funeral service at 2:30PM.

I served with Rick in Vietnam. He was the rare friendly, easy going guy that you didn't encounter there very often. When I finally tracked him down a few years ago I was a bit too late. He had already passed. I'm so sorry I missed him. This is the guy I knew.

Guess which one is me

I served in a platoon with Rick in Vietnam. He was a nice and funny guy even under some pretty wretched conditions. Funny the things you remember. I remember he wore a brightly colored hatband on his bush hat and had a big, broad smile.
When I got back in the world I was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado and I don't remember exactly how we connected but he picked me up in Torino Cobra and we drove up into the Rockies and just cruised around. He went out of his way to make me feel at home and after all this time, I wanted to say thanks.
So sorry I missed connecting with him.

Rick I miss you everyday. I think about how much love you and Joanie had for me as a teenager. You welcomed me with open arms and I felt more at home with your family then I did my own. I think about our car ride from Denver and how warm my heart felt around you. I love you rick. You where an amazing soul. Till we meet again.
