Ricky Leroy Brown ran into the eternal loving arms of his Savior on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Jesus came to bring him home! Rick was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Miriam Brown on July 17, 1947. He attended the Lutheran church with his mother and sister, Cheryl Ann. He married the love of his life, Margaret Ann Greenwald, after both graduated from the University of Wyoming, in 1969. Soon after graduating with an Accounting degree, Rick and Margaret moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where Rick worked for various companies before starting his own certified public accounting firm with Steve Erickson and Jay Kloster. After retiring, Rick's daughter, Katie, took over as partner for him. Rick enjoyed taking care of his clients and forming close relationships with so many people.
Rick and Margaret raised their two daughters and two adopted sons in Colorado Springs. Rick loved the Lord and evangelized to many people sharing the love of Christ. He read his Bible faithfully every day and prayed for so many. His love of travel took him around the world with friends and family. Rick's passions were loving Jesus, loving his family, listening to music, playing Scrabble and card games, reading, helping people with their financial needs, and attending as many sporting events as possible. With the partnership of his sister and brother-in-law, he enjoyed the cabin in Wyoming where family and friends would gather.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Miriam Brown; his son, Eugene Brown; in-laws Dorothy and William Greenwald; and his nephew Joel Nedens. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Ann; his sister Cheryl Rintamaki (Dick); daughters, Katherine Schaffer (Samual), Charlotte Owens (Max); son, Aaron Brown (Landen and Garrett); grandchildren, Morgann Schaffer (Christopher Parga), Miles Schaffer, Colton Sherman, Tyler Owens, Madison Thomas, Kyle Owens, Brock Owens; great grandson, Nolan Owens; nieces, Jaci Schmidt (Steve), Melissa Donathan (Travis), Jennifer Lenhart-Owen (Pete), Jillene Honold (Michael); nephews, Tyler Bandemer (Andrea Wright), Cody Bandemer (Nikki Allen), Justin Lenhart (Kristin); extended family, Willene Nedens (Richard), and Betty Lenhart (Jack).
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Colorado Springs Christian Schools at www.cscslions.org or the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Colorado at www.rmhcsoutherncolorado.org.

See you soon Rick,

"And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words."
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 NLT

Rick and I have been close friends for 70+ years, all the way from Lincoln Heights Elementary in Scottsbluff, Nebraska Western College and beyond. When our son, Hubert was born in Colorado Springs, Rick and Margaret opened their home to us and he spent his first night out of the hospital in their home. It seemed that no matter how long a separation we had, we could immediately start right up like it was just yesterday. In the past few years, we spent a lot of time sharing things on line and talking frequently on the phone. His mother was a favorite lady to me. I will never forget his grin and enthusiasm for life. My life was blessed by having him in it.
