Rita Faye Barry, 64, of Kahoka, MO., passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Rita was born on October 11, 1960, in Keokuk, IA. to Victor E. and Mary D. (Briley) Young. She was united in marriage to Vaughn Barry on October 13, 1979, in Kahoka, MO and he survives.
Rita lived a life filled with love, faith, and cherished moments with those she held dear. In her younger years, Rita found joy in baseball, bingo, and bowling, always bringing laughter and warmth to those around her. As the years passed, her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family, friends, and her church community. A devoted member of CrossPoint Church of Kahoka, her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she touched the hearts of many with her kindness and generosity. Rita’s presence will deeply be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rita is survived by her loving husband Vaughn of 45 years, her children: Janice (James) Barnes of Alexandria, MO., Misty (Kevin) Osbon of Wayland, MO., Faye (Mark) Tarpein of Kahoka, MO., her precious grandchildren: Nicholas Tarpein, Odie (Heidi Rose) Cook III, Oakley Cook, Karringtin Tarpein, Lynnlee Tarpein, Lennix Tarpein, her siblings: Bill (Brenda) Young, Ruby Simmons, Ava Carter, Diana Toben all of Kahoka, MO., a brother in-law Rex Barry of Canton, MO., sister-in-laws: Teresa Logsdon of Canton, MO., Paula Barry of Avon, IN., many beloved grand-dogs, cats, and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws Donald and Janice Barry, her siblings: Joan (Bill) Hayden, Sandra (Bill) Ringenberg, Victoria (Donald) Burks, Evelyn O’Day, Victor Young Jr., Gary Simmons, Jeff LeMaster, Floyd Sommers, Steve Toben, and Stanley Logsdon, as well as several nephews: Chad Young, Larry Hayden, and Nathanial Logsdon, and her niece Brigetta Logsdon.
Funeral Services for Rita Faye Barry will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11:00 am at Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home, Kahoka, MO., with burial at the Kahoka Cemetery. Pastor Eric Krueger will officiate. Visitation with family present will be held at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
