Rita Roman Obituary

Rita B. Roman, 88, of Colorado Springs, passed away on April 18, 2011. Rita was one of thirteen children born on October 5, 1922 in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania to the late Walter and Gertrude Matta. Rita graduated Salutatorian of her high school and was part of the Rosie the Riveters during WWII. She enjoyed traveling with her husband of 50 years and retired as manager of King Sooper's Bakery. Rita is survived by sons, Walter A., Thomas and Mark A. Roman as well as seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alfred and her son Alfred J. Roman, Jr. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
