Mr. Colvin was retired when I met him. I met him only once. His memory lives on through the stories that his daughter Jeanie told me about him. He was a kind husband and father that meant a lot to his family because he spent time with them, and was a gentle leader. Jeanie brought him to our office at Fort Carson in 2010 and she was so proud of him. I found him to be a soft spoken man with a humble heart and a love for his daughter. He was very proud of his family and their accomplishments too. The only regret I have is that I did not spend more time with him. The best part is that he taught his daughter to love the Lord. That means to me that he was right with his Savior, Jesus. God is good. DCS

Sergeant Major Colvin was a great American and a great man. I wish his family only the best in the future. And I pray the soul of SGM Colvin is resting in peace.
