CAPTAIN ROBERT E. DINKEL, JR. USN (RET.)
April 30, 1945 - December 6, 2018
Robert (Bob) Dinkel passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 6, 2018 in his home in Woodland Park, CO, where he has resided for the past 28 years. Bob was born in Bisbee, AZ, on April 30, 1945. Bob grew up in Culver City, CA where he attended high school and college. Bob entered the Navy through AOCS in Pensacola, Florida during the Vietnam War, and served 26 years in Naval Intelligence before retiring as Vice Director of Intelligence for US Space Command. Among his commendations were the Defense Superior Service Medal and the Joint Service Commendation Medal.
Bob is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda, his sons Curtis and Troy, daughters-in-laws Isabel and Jennifer, grandchildren Kristin, Erica, Sabrina, Rachel and Sam, great grandchildren Olyvia and Ava, and numerous nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his sisters Barbara Brisco and Virginia Siegel.
Bob loved traveling with his wife and living life to the fullest.
In accordance with Bob's wishes he will be interred at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery. Services are March 29, 2019 at 1pm at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the National Brain Tumor Society directed to Defeat GBM Research Collaborative.
