Robert Elgas Obituary
A reception follows the graveside services at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 1830 N. Academy Blvd., Colorado Springs. A chicken dinner will be served for $6/plate, music will be provided by Johnny Long.
Mr Elgas was born July 5, 1929 and was a long-time resident of Colorado Springs. He was well known as "Elgas the Wizard" who performed stage magic nationally.
He was musician and owner of Colorado Springs first Baldwin Piano Store. He was also a veteran having served in the 1950's at Fort Carson. He tuned, refinished and built pianos, and was an accomplished carpenter as well.
Mr, Elgas moved to Las Vegas in the early 90's where he established Magic Museum. He continued his piano work, custom built magic for known magicians there.
He passed away October 22, 2012 in Las Vegas. Only recently his ashes were moved to Colorado Springs so that his wishes to be buried next to his only son, Larry Elgas could be honored.
Anyone who knew Mr. Elgas is invited to attend his services and reception.
