Robert Foley Obituary

To the Foley family,
My condolences to all. Doc gave me some advice one night as a young businessman that stuck in my mind for many years. I was looking up Red, and immediately recognized Doc. How a guy gets better looking with age, well, I must presume he had some secrets from his training that weren't passed out to just anyone.

Doc, you raised quite a family. There was a lot of fun to be had at that house. The Corvette was was my second favorite part. Mike turned me on to this new group 'Chicago' who I eventually met and hung out with on numerous occasions. A teenage wish come true,as they kind of got a kick out me...so they let me in their club for 8 years or so. So the good memories were plentiful with all things you had your hand on, Doc.

We had a blast growing up in WDM and always enjoyed your good natured humor immensely.
I'll save the best stories for when we meet up, again. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement.

Dr. Foley was a blessing to me and my family. His concern, care, and medical skills kept us well through the years.

Dr. Foley you weren't just a doctor you truly cared about your patients and you set the bar high to which all other doctors are measured by. You will be missed.

Hi everyone.This is Dan Menard.Dr Foley will be missed.He was my Doctor for years,and a family friend.Doc was affiliated with hockey.He had 3 sons that were active in hockey.Doc was our team doctor,although I think he spent more time mending our opponents.(lol)
Thank GOD for hockey,otherwise I may never have met Robert,Justine,and the sisters and brothers."Great family" and lots of good memories to cherish.

Dr Foley delivered me! I often tell people this in comparison to who delivered them. Must be at eastside thing! My momma adored him and his kindness.

Dr Foley delivered my first born son in 1967. He worked at Hilltop Clinic and then delivered my daughter 4 years later. What a kind and wonderful doctor he was to my family. Much prayers go out to his family and friends.

Memories for me from long ago, yet clearly a life well lived. A memorable family! All the best wishes in honoring the life of a contributor, son, husband, father and grandfather.

Dear Justine, and family, We send our sympathy to all of you. I have thought about you over the years as I babysat for Dr. Foley when I was a student nurse. I have not seen Doc or his family for years since I moved away from town, but the thoughts of our times playing hockey and having him as our Doctor always bring a laugh and memories of some great times. The prayers of the entire Williams family are with you in these difficult times. You all were an important part of our lives growing up and I thank you.

Robert was a childhood friend of my Dad's, Donald Townsley of Cranston, Iowa. He talks often and fondly of Robert and his family. My Dad sends his deepest sympathies to Robert's family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Doc's passing. I haven't seen him for many years but I'll always remember how his face would light up when all the kids were around and later, when grandson Bobby was in the house. What a kind and gentle man. Rest in peace Bob.

I usually only saw him when one of us was ill, but always appreciated the encounters. Very professional and caring. Lost track of him after Hilltop Clinic and Penn Ave. I am very sorry for your loss.

I knew Doc Foley from way back in the day when the clinic he was in was on the corner of E.29th and Hubbell. I had been seeing another Doctor there but when it came time for my 2nd child to be born, he was not available. So Doctor Foley showed up. From that point on, he was MY Doctor. I loved his bedside manner, his graciousness and his patience for a woman who was in lots of pain. He delivered the next 2 children. The more I came to know him, the more I respected him. Rest in peace Doc. Watch over the rest of us. You will be missed.

What a wonderful and caring Dr. 38 years ago today, he delivered our daughter and was there for guidance and support thru all of those new worries and concerns we had as new young parents.

It was such a pleasure and an honor to spend time with Doc. His legacy is one of strength, success from hard work, and, most of all, love and generosity to everyone he encountered. He will be missed by all.

What amazing parents Doc and Justine were to all of us neighborhood kids too!! Oh the lessons we learned! :) So many great memories! I have no doubt that there is a Leech Lake in heaven ... where you can find Doc forever more. You were an amazing man and father to all of us Doc! We all share in your sadness and have our hearts and prayers with you all ~

You gave us some sage advice over the years. Thank you for being a part of our bigger Zagnoli McEvoy Foley family. I will hug Beth for you. Love from all the daughters without dads.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are related to Doc and Justine. The care and generosity they showed all of us was amazing. I will never forget the trips to Leech Lake. Thanks Doc!

He was my Dr for a short period when I lived in DSM. Dave was my coworker and he suggested I go see him because I couldn't find a Dr that cared about me. I didn't regret it. Thanks Dave and thanks Dr Foley. You made it a pleasant experience. You will be missed.

Such a wonderful man who loved family more than anything. He and Justine have always been so good and so giving to all us kids and grandkids. We will miss him so much. He is definitely someone who made this world a better place. Love to the Foley family.
