Bob, I enjoyed your mailings about your hikes and snow days! I am so sorry I was not able to get back there and share any of that beautiful country with you. I will miss you and your stories.

Bob was such a nice guy, I don't think he ever said a bad word ever, well, maybe once, but it was justified.

I will miss you bob, wa6jgw sk

My husband and I have known Bob since 1991.We met him thru a HAM Earthquake net . Over the years we met up at HAM gatherings and Astronomy outings. My husband and him shared the hobby of Astronomy. They would talk for hours over a telescope. We went on several trips with him to the Desert looking for earthquake faults and bringing the telescopes along for the evening.

When he moved to Colorado, we lost contact and had only recently gotten an email from him. He will be missed by us both

One day in 1978 this voice came over my CB radio. It was Bob. We became friends very quickly, he gave me my ham lic. Test, I Passed it,,and we built a 220mhz rptr. together, We stayed friends for many yrs and these last few yrs lost touch. He will be missed in deed. He had a very shy way about him and was very funny at times if he was in the mood. What else can i say about the man, other than we all lost a good man and its tragic he was taken from us so soon. We will miss you Bob!!!!

I had the great pleasure of knowing Bob for the past 35+ years. We first met via our shared hobby of ham radio and soon discovered that we had many other common interests as well. Bob became a great companion on hikes and outings exploring geology, photography, astronomy and was always up for a road trip to visit various historic and otherwise interesting places. Bob was truly a "one-of-a-kind" and he will surely be missed. Here's to ya buddy!

Bob was truely "one of the great ones" willing to help anyone in need no matter how "out of the way" it was.
I will miss our ham radio, and weather discussions greatly, as well as our occasional talks about nothing at all.

Take care friend.

During the six years I worked with Bob, I remember him as being a kind and gentle man, full of knowledge and curiosity. He was a man of many interests as described by others here, but I remember him best as the one to go to if you had a question. He may not have always had the answer ready, but he would drop everything to help you find it together. Since I had left Quantum two years ago, we slipped out of contact, but he will always be remembered as one of the best friends I have ever had. Rest easy Bob, you deserve it.

Bob was truly a great guy who had a very easy-going spirit. I worked with Bob for 10 years at Quantum and we both kind of grew up together with the challenge of the P1000 line.

Bob kind of led you to believe that he was a grouchy old fart but he was far from it!! He had a heart of gold and, when you could work a smile out of him, it was one of the most sincere smiles I've ever seen.

Rest in peace Bob. You'll be very much missed!!!

If I had one more day with Bob, I would thank him for sharing his knowledge with me. I would tell him how much I admire him for being such a pateint mentor. I would shake his hand and say that I was sorry for being impatient at times. Lastly, I would let him know how much we are going to miss him and how important he was to us, as a teacher, as a pier, as a friend.

Bob was one of my best friends at Quantum for the past 9 years. We worked closely together on the Mako library test project. He liked to talk about hiking in the mountains, taking photographs, and astronomy. He also liked to talk about computers, and especially electronic gadgets. I can recall seeing Bob at work with a cell phone, a Treo PDA, and an iPOD on his belt! He was what we like to call an "early adopter". I'm really thankful for all the fun times we had at work, and the great conversations over lunch or dinner. You'll be sorely missed, my friend.

I was so sorry to hear about Robert passing. He was such a GENTLE-man. I worked with him at Quantum in Irvine for 3 years and he was always very helpful and nice to all of his co-workers. My prayers go out to his friends and especially his family.

Bob and i were very good friends and we worked together for 9 years. He was my mentor in many different things. He would talk to me about Vietnam and his experiences there. That helped him alot. We would go cycling, hiking, view the sky in the desert in California through his telescope, talk about his pictures he took on his many adventures, talk about his past and his family. He was a gentle and quiet man. He had some regrets, but life went on for him and he made the best of it. I will miss the long talks with him about the thrills and passions in his life. I will miss you my friend!!

Although I knew Bob for a short amount of time, it was great to have the opportunity to share an office with him. He was always light-hearted with no malice or bad intention towards anyone. I will miss him and celebrate the time we shared.

I'm sorry to hear about Bob since he was a such a dedicated worker with his quiet approach from the good ol ATL products days here in So Cal. I'll never forget signing all those unscheduled reqs...Rest in Peace Bob. We'll miss ya.

Bob and I have worked closely for over 10 years. I consider him more friend than coworker. His geology, astronomy, hiking, and photography discussions will be greatly missed as will those occasional long talks about nothing and his "cranky days." I can only hope that I improved his life as much as he improved mine.
I miss you pal. Jeanette and Kya miss you too....
