Robert Kent Obituary

Dr. Robert H. Kent passed away on March 11 in Colorado Springs at the age of 84. He was born and raised in Denver.

After attending South High School, Dartmouth College, University of Denver, and Colorado University Medical School, Bob interned at Denver's Presbyterian Hospital. Following his residency at the Mayo Clinic, he returned to his native Colorado where he practiced medicine in Colorado Springs for over thirty years.

The defining focus of Bob's life was his devotion to his children. Not only did he instill a love of the outdoors through skiing, hiking, and backpacking, Bob role-modeled compassion and integrity throughout his life. He was a gifted listener who had the tender ability to make others feel at ease. Along with a unique sense of humor, he possessed a sensitivity that allowed a deep involvement in the lives of his children, his patients, and his friends.



In 1954 Bob married his college sweetheart, Susanne Ujvarosi. Together they raised four children: Brian, Gordon (Andrea Black, and daughters Satya and Laila Kent), the late Stuart, and Andrea Kent.

Another significant dimension of Bob's life was his enduring passion for music, especially jazz. A drummer since high school, Bob played in dance bands and small jazz ensembles into his eighties.

A humble caregiver, Dr. Bob will be deeply missed.

Honoring Bob's wishes, there will be no formal services.
