Robert Lee Obituary

Robert E. Lee Jr., went to heaven to be with his beloved wife, Jeanne on January 9, 2005. Robert was born in Chicago, on June 24, 1923. When he was five years old his family moved to Colorado Springs. He attended schools in Colorado Springs graduating from CSHS/Palmer in 1941. He attended Mesa College before enlisting in the Marine Corps to fight in the South Pacific Theatre in WWII. Robert met and then married Jeanne M. Goodman on June 20, 1946. They had four children: Sharen, Donald, Dale and David. Robert was a Union Carpenter/Contractor for 56 years. He helped form the Knob Hill Volunteer Fire Department and served as the Chief several times. He was a Scout Master and belonged to the CSHS Alumni Association where he was responsible for building the Bell Tower, he was a Mason and Shrine member and achieved several degrees in this organization. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to grow a huge garden every summer. He leaves behind a sister, Kathryn Pick; a daughter, Sharen and her husband, John Thomas; their two children: Julia and her husband, Eric Calvert; and son, John and his wife, Susan Thomas of California; son, Dale Lee of Colorado; daughter-in-law, Vickie Lee and sons: Darron and Chad Lee of Colorado; and granddaughter, Adriene Flemming and daughters: Addie and Alex Flemming of MO; sisters-in-law: Lorene Good, Delphine Morrison, Ilene Boatright; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial will be held in Colorado Springs in June.
